Asking me to review Dragon Age: Origins is a bit like asking a quadruple amputee to tell you his thoughts on Guitar Hero… I’m just saying that I may not be the best qualified for the job. Has my lack of role playing game chops affected my take on this highly touted and much [...]

Reviewsical: Dragon Age

If The King was alive, which he very well may be, we think he would wholeheartedly approve of the latest installment of Reviewsical. This time around, The SG Brown Show crew takes aim at… Dragon Age.

Review of the Reviews of Dragon Age: Origins
November 5th, 2009 · 14 Comments
Welcome to the reintegration of an arguably ancient SG feature, Review of the Reviews. In this feature, we essentially take on Metacritic at their own game, but rather than summarizing every review into a score, we use words. Words are better, right? Better than numbers? I mean, what was the last binary play you went [...]

Eurogamer Expo: My Take On Dragon Age: Origins’ Platform Performances
November 2nd, 2009 · 5 Comments
As I said on our first podcast of the weekend, Dragon Age was one of my more anticipated titles to see and get hands-on with. Well I did get hands-on with it, briefly, for as long as I could stand to keep my eyes on that screen.
You know that feeling you get when you look [...]

BioWare: “Hello, would you like to play a game we’ve made?”
Krelith: *DROPS PHONE AND RUNS TO NEAREST PC*
That’s the way that conversation would go if it ever happened in real life. Which it hasn’t… YET. Still, there be some news on the ol’ BioWare/Dragon Age front. AND IT INVOLVES A GAME.
Launch DLC for Dragon Age sure to cause an unnecessary stir

Doc and I were running around looking for a restroom and bumped into the guys from Bioware. As you can see by the ending, we made a beeline for the restroom. It’s a no frills interview… Now that we’ve relieved ourselves I’d really like to do that interview again. Oh well.

SG-PSP Episode 60: Continental Brothers
July 10th, 2009 · 5 Comments
In our 60th episode we discuss the impending end of “The Big Bet” between Rothbart and Frawlz, Sony’s new patent to allow the use of real world objects in-game, and BioWare’s optimistic attitude toward PS3 development. We also discuss the first PSP game to sell 3.5M copies (and none of us have even played it!) [...]

E3 09: Dragon Age: Origins Dated and Looking Dramatic!
June 1st, 2009 · No Comments
BioWare’s “spiritual successor” to Baldur’s Gate, the much-anticipated Dragon Age: Origins, has been dated, and that date of release is October 20th.
The trailer, backed by Marilyn Manson’s “This is the New Sh*t,” is entirely bad-ass and looks straight out of a hollywood blockbuster.
And yes, there’s a sex scene. Fox News, be on the ready!
Oh, and [...]
