Wanna see what you’re missing in the Left 4 Dead demo? I’ve got the first 15 minutes of the No Mercy Campaign after the jump.

If Metal Gear Solid 4’s 2 million hours of cut-scenes were just that little bit too much for you to handle and your brain imploded from all the wishy-washy philosophy, Valve might have a solution for you in the form of Left 4 Dead. Speaking to Kotaku at PAX, the company’s Chet Faliszek said that, much like Half-Life 2, everything will be said to your player character in real time by fellow companions.
For more super awesome details and junk, you know where to go. (The link. Over there. Not to Kotaku. Don’t be stupid.)

“Left 4 Dead” looks absolutely awesome. The game’s AI Director aims to keep hardcore gamers on their toes. This impressive technology will ensure that each round is a new experience, as the game’s undead enemies will never attack the same way from the same location.
The SG team has been hyping this game for quite some time. It is a safe bet that a few of us will be purchasing the game when it ships in November. Unfortunately, the team-based zombie slaying won’t be happening in the first week of the month.
The game’s previously reported release date of Nov. 4 has been pushed back. Get the new release date, after the jump. (more…)

Valve’s Left 4 Dead, debuting this November for the PC and Xbox 360, is somewhat of a media phenomenon. It basically came out of nowhere about a year ago to rise to the cream of Valve’s crop for 2008. It rose to the top for good reason. It absolutely rocks. It’s like no other game I have ever played. It takes the cooperative first person shooter, adds zombies, perfects the controls and the cherry on top? An AI Director that will make sure that every time you replay a scenario, it will be a different experience.
This game has the goods. How can it go wrong?

You gotta love worldwide equality when it comes to digital distribution of games. First off, Sony (as you might be aware from my, oh, constant rantings) are all too happy to screw Europeans over when it comes to PlayStation Store content, and now it seems that Valve is gleefully joining in.
Hit the jump for more on this, and why thousands of PC gamers are trying to do something about it.

The plethora of upcoming zombie-centric titles creates a rather ominous feeling. It is as if the industry’s developers are preparing gamers for some sort of undead apocalypse. With “Resident Evil 5,” “Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop” and “The Last Guy” scheduled for release within the next year, gamers are sure going to have plenty of opportunities to hone their survival skills.
Perhaps no game will prepare us better for the brain-munching madness than Valve’s “Left 4 Dead.” Unfortunately for Playstation 3 and Wii owners, the game is currently exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC.
Or is it? (more…)

My gaming collection took a pretty big hit in late 2007 and early 2008 for reasons I’m not going to get into here. Two of those games that were lost to me were Halo 3 and The Orange Box. This left me with Call of Duty 4, a game I chose to keep not because it was better, but because it was the most fun for me at the time, and the one that this very community was leaning towards.
Well, with my last paycheck, I decided that I was going to regrow parts of my gaming collection, namely with these two games that I had lost. Woo-Boy, controversy abound! As Sarcastic Gamer’s resident grim reaper of death in Call of Duty, I was met with some strange responses when some of the many people on my friends list signed on to see me playing Halo 3.
Some of them were worried. Some angry. Some were even scared. But all of them were chocked full of questions.

In a surprise move this morning, Valve’s president Gabe Newell crashed rival Id’s QuakeCon ‘08 event to announce to the world that Valve is STILL not a Playstation 3 developer. According to an unnamed insider, Valve has spotters scheduled to attend every major gaming event for the next 24 months and have streamlined a system to have Gabe Newell on the ground, speaking negatively about Playstation 3 development within 6.25 hours. If someone high up in gaming (like Id’s John Carmack) says anything that can possibly be considered as a negative toward PS3 development, you can bet Gabe Newell will be there shortly to back you up with an “Amen, brother!” as well as his now-aging spiel. Eagle-eyed community members might have noticed that like many forms of media, physical products are slowly on the way out. Websites such as Netflix and platforms like the Xbox Live Video Marketplace allow you to stream or download movies across the internet direct to you, without the need for any DVDs. In music, CD singles are slowly disappearing from shelves; the UK high-street chain Woolworths recently announced its plans to phase out singles altogether, despite selling an arguably-profitable one in three of them in the country. Other stores such as zavvi and HMV have cut down on the quantity of physical CDs they sell on the shop floor, launching their own digital download services to compete with the likes of iTunes and Napster.
What’s on the way out next then? Games? Speculation awaits through the link below…

A bunch of news came out of the Game Developers Conference yesterday. One piece of info on Valve’s zombie shooter, Left 4 Dead, will leave PS3 owners out in the cold.
