SGR #9: BEEF

June 30th, 2009 · 14 Comments

beef

In this episode we talked about Prototype, Transformers 2, and we had some beef with a few people that we had to get off of our chests. All this and following Leigh Alexander’s twitter await you on SGR #9.

Enjoy.

In this episode we talked about inFAMOUS, The Bigs 2 demo, the dry spell in game releases and much, much more. This is more news and less skits like last week — we were lazy. Thanks to our special guest Chris Paladino, formerly of the Gamerscoreblog and now with Promethium marketing.

Enjoy.

Again, 8bit Bass did not assist with this episode, but he was the inspiration. Wordpress really wanted him to be attached to this post for some unknown reason.

Sorry it’s taken so long for us to put out an episode. We’ve been recovering from our E3 adventures.

In this episode we talked about E3, infamous, and Nintendo’s new demo play, among other things. We also had a few special announcements so you don’t want to miss those. This is more news and less skits, look for those to return in next weeks mighty 8th episode of SGR.

Enjoy.

Podcast Reminder For E3 Week

May 31st, 2009 · 6 Comments

sg_podcasts_delayedHey guys, just a quick reminder that the regular SG podcasting schedule won’t apply for E3 week as members of the SG Radio, SG Blu, and SG Pink teams will be infiltrating E3 to bring you all the latest information (like exactly how awesome Brian Crecente’s hair really looks in person!)

We’ve got a lot planned for this week, so keep your eyes peeled while work our butts off!  Okay, well… don’t literally look at our butts, but watch the site!

SG Radio 6 – Butt Naked with Jax

May 25th, 2009 · 6 Comments

episode6

For a long, long time Sarcastic Gamer Podcasting has meant a ridiculous amount of attention to detail in the post production process.  After a show is recorded, several hours are then invested adding effects, clipping out mistakes, and trying to make each show sound as good as it can.  In this special 6th episode of Sarcastic Gamer Radio, we’re once again giving you something completely different from previous offerings.

This episode, Jax, Dave, and I leave the show completely naked without so much as a single edit, and making all of the effects and music the old fashioned way… with our voices.  Whether we succeed or fail epicly, you’ll want to listen as we discuss my new PS3, Killzone 2, Terminator Salvation, and much much more.

Please stop by  iTunes and subscribe to Sarcastic Gamer Radio.  You can also click this little RSS feed and get the show through your choice of platform (including Zune).

Sorry this is late. I got a little carried away this evening on a certain um…. reality show.  Anyhow.

On this episode we talked about Wolverine, Infamous, and Battlestations Pacific.  We also introduced a new segment to the show (Following Leigh Alexander on Twitter), Challenged each other to a standing on one leg contest and more… (Not much more but a little.)

Have at it.

SG Radio #4: Demo Madness

May 5th, 2009 · 11 Comments

sgr4Sarcastic Gamer Radio is a variety show hosted by Doc and Dave and featuring many voices you’ll recognize.  This show isn’t the one to turn to for in-depth analysis of top stories, but rather a place for gamers to turn to when they’ve had enough of all of that.  It’s a 30-minute road-trip around the Sarcastic Gamer Community with lots of stops along the way at places that don’t always have the cleanest restrooms.

This week we discussed a few of the demos that came out last week, and the XBL Community Play date, among other things.

As always, if don’t like this episode, tune in next week for an entirely different one.

Special thanks to this week’s sponsors, the Swine Flu and DeathbyWaffle’s Dad; oh and we can’t forget the SGC members that submitted their 15 seconds of fame. In order of appearance: Jack Richardson, Hayes Doe, Killcraft and Mynameshouldntmatter. Keep these coming guys, email them to Dave@sarcasticgamer.com (Don’t forget to include your forum name in the email!)  Special thanks to Venus Envy for making this episode’s post picture.

Please keep your feedback coming and understand that for those who do offer CONSTRUCTIVE feedback, you’re being heard, as we hope this show demonstrates.

Please stop by  iTunes and subscribe to Sarcastic Gamer Radio.  You can also click this little RSS feed and get the show through your choice of platform (including Zune).

Sarcastic Gamer Radio is a variety show hosted by Doc and Dave and featuring many voices you’ll recognize. So reset your odometer, because as one journey ends, so begins the next leg of our podcasting adventure.

This week we discussed GTA China Town Wars, Peggle in your WoW, the UFC demo and much, much more.  For the third installment of SG Radio we also tossed in a free side dish of your choice (provided you choose SG News with Paul Christy!)

As always, if don’t like this episode, tune in next week for an entirely different one.

Special thanks to this week’s sponsor, Jock Itch, and the SGC members that submitted their 15 seconds of fame.

Sarcastic Gamer Radio #2: Baby Come Back

April 20th, 2009 · 42 Comments

radio

The first Sarcastic Gamer Radio was a polarizing experience to say the least.  The show is indeed a work in progress, and we gathered a lot of feedback and went back into the audio workshop for another go.

Sarcastic Gamer Radio #2:  Baby Come Back

With Paul Christy out on vacation this week, we introduced a brand new full-length SG Parody song debut (look for the video on IGN later this week)!

We got into games like Hawx, Chronicles of Riddick, and touched a little more on CoD:WaW.  We also had a little talk about a topic Truth n Justice brought up on the blog last week, about how NXE’s party system is sorta killing the social aspect of Xbox Live.

You’ll hear from several community members in the 15 seconds of fame program, and a touching final farewell to former listener Shane86 to whom we wish nothing but the best.

PLEASE SUPPORT SG COMMUNITY MEMBER in his efforts to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Dude’s running a friggin MARATHON!  http://sarcasticgamer.com/runatticusrun

Next week, Paul Christy returns along with (possibly) a special guest.

Please keep your feedback coming and understand that for those who do offer CONSTRUCTIVE feedback, you’re being heard, as we hope this show demonstrates.

Please stop by  iTunes and subscribe to Sarcastic Gamer Radio.  You can also snag RSS feed and get the show through your choice of platform (including Zune).

Of course you could always just get this handy-dandy mp3.

Special Thanks to Rothbart, Lono, Dave and the rest of the gang for help with the new parody song!

Welcome to a new show.  Sarcastic Gamer Radio is a variety show hosted by Doc and Dave and featuring many voices you’ll recognize. So reset your odometer, because as one journey ends, so begins the next leg of our podcasting adventure.

Sarcastic Gamer Radio #1:  Don’t hold your breath

This show features 15 Seconds of Fame from 8bitbass, Kim Andre, Chicken X and Seth Van Acker, plus some special help from MosEisley.   We talked about everything from Bananas to Fallujah, and got a visit from our old friend and SG news legend, Paul Christy.  Way too much to tease in just one paragraph, so just go ahead and give it an open-minded try.  Thank you for stopping by.

Please stop by  iTunes and subscribe to Sarcastic Gamer Radio.  For the people who really know their stuff, here’s an RSS feed you can use to jack in to the show from just about any reader.

Direct Download purist?  Okay then.  Here’s your plain mp3.

Thanks for listening.

Special thanks to Undead Dog for coming through with the new logo, and to Venus for her mad skillz (below)

Farewell to an era – The Sarcastic Gamer Podcast ends

April 12th, 2009 · 32 Comments

22293_logo

A couple of weeks ago, had you told me we were recording our last episode of the Red Show, I would not have believed you.  For well over a hundred shows Lono, Dave and I pulled it together and cranked out humpday Updates, Podcasts, game specials and so much more.

Lono was a part of that show from nearly the beginning, and to continue that show without him on it would have been an empty experience for everyone.  We never went on the air without each other, and even when it was a scheduling nightmare.  We will not continue “The Red Show” without Lono.  It just wouldn’t ever work.  There’s too much history there.

Instead, we’re closing that chapter, and opening a new one.

Standby for a new type of show, coming tonight, which we hope you’ll receive with an open mind.

Thank you for listening to all of those shows and welcoming us into your head a couple times a week for the last year and a half.  We hope you’ll hang around long enough to give this new show a chance.  Lono has started a new project, which is currently hosted over at the HCCG site that we hope you’ll check out as well.

Good night and farewell to one of the most interesting periods of my life…  Thanks for the memories.
