Screens, monitors, displays, televisions: they’re all the same thing, bar their obvious differences, but this article is not about those types of screens, but a different type - a screenshot.
In a flurry of literary genius, I was about to make a terrible joke about a ’screenshot’ not being a monitor which has been shot, and was then going to cleverly link shooting, to guns, which would neatly bring me to the Grand Theft Auto series, but that would be appalling so I wont bother.
All the details and screenshots can be found after the jump.
Nothing is more annoying than someone who won’t take no for answer. When I hear someone say “No” to an idea, I usually move on, or at least try to think of a way to really persuade the person it’s a good idea. I don’t follow them around for seven months repeating the same thing over and over again like a 3 year old begging for candy. Well it seems EA has finally realized that Take-Two is not going to give them a GTA treat and so they have (finally) left to find another company to beg candy from.
More about EA giving up on the Take-Two takeover after the jump! (more…)
Forget that girl who rescued her family when she realised that the upturned car they were trapped in might explode. Sure, she might have learnt that from Grand Theft Auto, but it was nothing compared to the actions of little Jessica Sanderson, 10, from Medford, Oregon, who took some inspiration from the game to save her family from an even more dangerous threat.
Kotaku picked up a mighty fine scoop of a news story coming out of Streator, Illinois, of an 11 year old girl who managed to save the lives of her family following a car accident because of - get this - something she learnt from Grand Theft Auto.
In your face, Fox News! (I’d use Jack Thompson but he’s not really around any more so Fox is the next best thing.) Hit the jump for more, along with some other excuses you could use to play Grand Theft Auto under the stern eye of your local killjoy.
If you mosey on down to the GTA: Chinatown Wars official site you’ll notice that a Nintendo Wi-Fi connection logo is proudly displayed at the bottom of the page. Exciting no? No, it isn’t, but let’s have a closer look anyway.
Two months after Grand Theft Auto IV was released, I’m given another opportunity to see if they’ve finally “gotten it right” with respect to us 60GB PS3 owners who still experience random freezing in the game that can only be resolved by getting off our lazy butts and power cycling our machines. This new patch addresses a fair number of crash-related issues, but none of them come right out and say “Fixed crash that seems to be unrelated to anything specific at all.”
Details for what crashes they’ve addressed after the jump… (more…)
UPDATE:The first email that went out to store customers was not properly addressed. The podcast has been re-distributed. If you ordered anything ever from our store and left a valid email address at the time you ordered, you should now have the link. Check your spam folder if you don’t see it.
After a false start, we’ve finally managed to release the Grand Theft Auto 4 podcast to our loyal SG Store customers. If you’ve ever bought anything to support Sarcastic Gamer in our store, this early release is our way of saying thank you.
If you’re as strapped for cash as I am, don’t get too huffy. The show’s coming for everyone in a couple weeks just like all of our other podcasts. You can’t BUY this show. It’s free.
If you absolutely can’t wait a little bit to hear the show…. it’s never too late to pick up something in the store, and its NEVER been cheaper.
A week or so ago, Lono put a post up that detailed the top five craziest things to do in GTA 4. That’s all well and good, but in order to maximize the amount of fun and time you get from GTA 4 you need to go a bit more in depth. So, without further ado, I announce the top five things to do in Perseus (one of the clothes shops in GTA).
Read the ridiculously real stuff you can do in GTA IV, after the jump. (more…)
Sadly, my illusions about the invincibility of the HUGE tugboat in GTA 4 have been shattered. According to the SG User Blog by Painkilla05, the vessel can and will be destroyed by the Liberty City Poe-Poe, if hit with enough of their Tugboat-piercing rounds. (more…)
We finally spill the beans about the brand new SG Podcast, within the first 30 seconds of the show. Then we spent most of the show discussing GTA4. There’s more… But I won’t spoil it just yet.

Good morning. It’s Fiction Friday. I wish this were fiction, but it’s true as far as I can gather from CVG.
Apparently, Jack Thompson has sent another one of his famous “Letters” to none other than the MOTHER of Rockstar Chief, Strauss Zelnick. On the paper, which was reported to have been doused heavily in Aqua Velva, Thompson said, “The pornography and violence that your son traffics in is the kind of stuff that most mothers would be ashamed to see their son putting into the hands of other mothers’ children.”
1UP has an interesting interview posted with Rockstar’s co-founder Sam Houser. As we’re leading up to the release of GTA IV and while the stupid media embargo seems to still be in effect, some things are dribbled out here and there. Gameplay footage is hitting YouTube and GameTrailers, only to be removed minutes later, reviews are being leaked then squashed. For folks that truly want to know the differences between the two versions of the game on the 360 and PS3, it’s a bit frustrating. I’m not talking the known differences such as Xbox Live support and exclusive DLC, I’m talking about the performance of the game itself.
Does one version look, feel, or play better than the other? Sam Houser has an answer for us… (more…)
