Hey everybody! Now that PAX is over and all is calmed down I managed to get all the pictures together so you guys and gals can get a glimpse of all the fun we had at PAX. I especially like the one where Doc kissed Godfree… again. There are a lot of really funny ones, so enjoy.
Make sure you save up your pennies so you can join us next year!
At PAX we all were hustling and bustling around trying to see and experience all we could. We did our best to see it all, but I did it mostly while watching the guys play the games. Then, I got my first assignment.
My first official job as an SG staff member, the guys asked me to go check out the new Tower Defense game from Hidden Path Entertainment (the guys behind the XBLA hit title Wits & Wagers). It’s called Defense Grid: The Awakening. While I had no expectations for the game, I was pleasantly surprised by the latest tower defense game.
I am not by any means any expert at tower defense games, but check out my impressions after the jump anyway.
I know it was almost three weeks ago, but I guess I just forgot that I had all of these great pictures from PAX. The best ones are the pictures of the Gears of War 2 Match against Gamertag Radio. They got destroyed and had to bow down to the SG crew in our triumphant pictures.
You’ve seen Doc’s photo dump before. I’ve been a bit behind with getting my pictures out, so, here they are. Believe me when I say that I got the good pictures from PAX. There’s lots of quirky Day 1 goodness.
Promise.
Check it out and check out Finster, after the jump!
PAX has quickly grown into a phenomenon within the gaming community. It has overtaken E3 as the place to be for gamers, while keeping that indie spirit, usually reserved for much smaller shows. It allows gamers to meet other gamers that they have only talked to online. It allows regular gamers to bump elbows with the rest of the gaming community, while also allowing everyone the chance to play the latest and greatest video games coming out this year.
Beyond all that, there are a few simple truths to be taken away from this year’s PAX. Let’s take a look at a few of these, after the jump.
We’re back from PAX ‘08 with Episode 19 of the Sarcastic Gamer Playstation Podcast covering everything we saw and played. While we missed having Pacman there, Frawlz and Rothbart saw and played plenty… In this episode we discussed:
Introductions (Pacman whines about not having fun at PAX)
Pacman’s a self-described idiot, needs an alarm clock
Bet-check: Killzone 2 missing from PAX, LBP present… Frawlz reluctantly admits LBP is “a contender”
GamerCast Network update with the best ever “Weeeeee…..” (we think)

The hype surrounding Resistance 2 for the PS3 is deafening. Sony is pushing this game, along with Little Big Planet, as their BIG titles for the Christmas season. It’s no surprise then that Resistance 2 was on the PAX show floor, showing off it’s multiplayer capabilities. Also from the Resistance camp was the PSP title, Resistance Retribution, the PSP game that comes out after Resistance 2 that bridges the gap between the first game and the second PS3 game. Confused yet? Of course not!
While I was at the PSP booth, a very nice Sony representative allowed me to try out the PSP 3000. My impressions and the unconfirmed, confirmed, unconfirmed, yet totally confirmed rumor/truth, after the jump.
Dead Space is pretty flippin cool… literally. You flip the world and levels around so much its hard to tell which way is up. Watch me get owned by the game.
Our resident crash test dummy, Lono, got to play the only-recently-announced First Person Action/Platformer from Electronic Arts, Mirror’s Edge.
Despite pressing hard, we still couldn’t get any closer to an actual release date for this game. As you’ll hear, the rep didn’t even squirm. I need to work on my cross examination skills. Full video walkthrough after the jump.
