Time to lift the 100-friend cap on Xbox Live

May 21st, 2008 · 14 Comments

I have friends I play GTA4 with.

I have friends I play CoD4 with.

I have friends I play Rock Band with.

I do not have room for all of those friends on my friends list.

Fortunately I have solved the whole problem for Microsoft. Now all they need to do is execute. (more…)

Bourne Demo Sucks

May 7th, 2008 · 17 Comments

I know, I know, Animathias recently posted his Bourne Conspiracy Demo Impressions right here, on this very page. He really liked it. He thought it was too easy, but enjoyed the cinematic experience. He did have a few minor complaints, and you can read all about it right here.

Read it and weep, because he’s totally off his rocker, that demo sucks.

Xbox Live DLC: Have we let it go too far?

April 15th, 2008 · 11 Comments

As you may remember, we kind of were successful in organizing a boycott against Battlefield: Bad Company and Electronic Arts because of a pretty stupid and downright greedy DLC tactic. However, has it become a case of too little too late?

Gripshift over delivers on my ridiculous expectations

April 15th, 2008 · 5 Comments

I decided that I’d been ignoring the offerings on Xbox Live Arcade for too long. The last game I’d “purchased” was Undertow. And we all know how that story ends.

But I came across this little game called Gripshift in the deep dark recesses of Xbox Live Marketplace. Now I’m blowing off CoD4 and R6V2 invites to instead collect gold stars like an addict. This game was totally worth it. (more…)

We’re all just worker monkeys, working for Microsoft

April 9th, 2008 · 27 Comments

I can deal with an occasional hiccup in the Xbox Live servers. I can take looking at ads whenever I’m browsing the dashboard or marketplace. However, when I sit down and actually think about all the revenue going to Microsoft, I wonder what’s actually in it for us, the consumers. Xbox Live is a gold mine for Microsoft, and we’re the worker monkeys.

Dance, Monkey! If you dance well enough, maybe you’ll get an Arcade game that’s actually an ad!

YOU can touch the BIG ASS TABLE: MS Surface goes public April 17

Vista SP1 Offers an Additional Frame-Per-Second

March 20th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Every time Microsoft releases a new operating system, it’s a piece of stinky, pungent crap. Then, after about a year or two of dawdling, they package and distribute a new version of Stink Protection (SP). This normally covers up the putrid smell just long enough until SP2. Windows 2000 reeked so badly, they were up to SP4 before users could unplug their nostrils. (more…)

Sour economy is sweet for EA, MS

March 20th, 2008 · 6 Comments

sweetsour.jpg

It’s a recession here in the US of A and that means belt-tightening times for many Americans. Less money for frivolous expenditures like say… video games and consoles. It also means that the value of companies that sell those games can take quite a dip, if forecast revenues don’t measure up to reality. This isn’t a bad situation to be in if you’ve been saving trillions of pennies to buy one of those companies. You get where I’m going with this? Hang in there… (more…)
