Gamercast Network Invades Liberty City!

April 30th, 2008 · 8 Comments

As a member of the radio industry, I’ve always loved the spoof radio stations in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. There are a lot of inside jokes that make me wail.

Now, our sister sites in the Gamercast Network have teamed up to launch some pirate radio stations for GTA4. Using the custom soundtrack feature in GTA4, you can download and listen to these stations while you’re driving the mean streets of Liberty City.

The first of its kind, this Gamercast Network effort is sure to attract copy-cats, though none will likely stack up to these great offerings from some of the best independent podcasters in gaming.

Visit gta.gamercastnetwork.com to learn more, and download these pirate radio stations for Grand Theft Auto 4.

Sarcastic Gamer’s WOOF-FM is coming….

Sarcastic Gamer Joins Gamercast Network

August 24th, 2007 · No Comments

by Jeromy “Doc” Adams

It is my privilege to finally announce that SarcasticGamer.com has accepted the very generous invitation of the Gamercast Network to join them in providing compelling and unique content for listeners and readers from around the world.

The New Gamercast Network:(alphabetically)

As part of this announcement, the Gamercast Network Website, has been redesigned to include live feeds from all of these shows and websites, with links to tons of great gaming-related articles, audio, and video.

Xbox Live Downloadable Content

We are pretty frickin geeked to also announce that you can now proudly sport the Sarcastic Gamer logo, or the logo of any GCN affiliate, as your Xbox Live Gamer Pic by downloading the official picture pack on Marketplace. It’s FREE, and it helps to build awareness of our site, and that of the other great GCN teams.

Personal Note:
Finally, I would like to extend my personal appreciation to the veteran GCN members for being such great mentors over the past year. Without your high-speed low-ego approach to delivering great content for gamers, Sarcastic Gamer would not exist. Thanks for playing my dumb songs, and for your friendship. On behalf of our entire Sarcastic Gamer team and readers….. Thank You!

-Doc

Ivan’s Bioshock Odyssey

August 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

a guest rant by Christopher J. Ivan of Gamercast Network’s Video Game Show

If you listened our most recent show you know that I wasn’t very excited about Bioshock. I played the demo and thought it was ok. But it didn’t wow me. Granted I only played it once, and Stranglehold had more of an instant fun factor for me. I even responded to a couple 360 IMs saying that I probably wasn’t going to buy the game, and instead buy something like Two Worlds.

However… Monday night I was getting close to finishing Shivering Isles for Oblivion (finally!) and knew I wanted to buy a new game. I also knew that I was going to finish SI on Tuesday night. On top of that I had taken today (Wednesday) off from work to just relax and do nothing (250+ vacation hours to use up!)

Two Worlds doesn’t come out until later this week (if we’re lucky) and I think the demo gave me my fill of Stranglehold. So I took a closer look at Bioshock. I skimmed some web pages and checked out the review sites. 97 from Metacritic and 96.5 from Gamerankings. Wow. That’s like… a lot. Metacritic’s 97 out of 100 is dubbed “Universally Acclaimed.” Maybe I over looked something.

So, having Wednesday off I slept in and decided to roll out of the apartment at noon and head across the street to Circuit City. CC also has a new “Gamers Club” card giving you 10% off all video games all the time (and maybe even accessories). So I figured I’d pick up the card and buy the game, and play until dinner time. So sure was I that I would be gone for 15 minutes I didn’t shut off the TV or the lights or anything. “I’ll just zip across the street and come right back and start playing!”

And thus the adventure began… (Continued on the Sarcastic Gamer Forums)

Knocking On 2 Million

June 19th, 2007 · 3 Comments

A few months ago I did a parody for my friends over at Gamercast Network called “How to Kill Your Brand”. A couple of people made YouTube videos of that song that got a lot of attention. Today it’s sitting at 1.6 million views and climbing. I think when it hits 2 million I’ll open this mini bottle of tequila that my friend brought back from Mexico for me. Maybe do a line of Oreos. Here’s to 2 million views. Unreal.
