I know we are still a long way pre-natal but since we are “post-natal announcement” I half expected to find Natal at the Eurogamer Expo as this was the best chance to give an early showing to the British public. To my surprise there were absolutely no signs of it. People seem very apprehensive to talk about it, or at least not keen to go on record with anything concrete. While there are leaked details of a low price, the details of the games being made are currently still limited.
Are Microsoft being heavy handed with gag orders regarding their new baby or do people just not want to risk burning their bridges with the Microsoft mother company? Will I avoid answering this question or prove that you can not silence the enthusiast press…? (more…)
Our intrepid roving reporter MightyMutt tackles Ubisoft on Assassin’s Creed II and Splinter Cell, gets the facts on Alien vs Predator and Bayonetta from SEGA, learns a ton about LittleBigPlanet on PSP and gets the dirty on Split/Second from developer Black Rock.

As I said on our first podcast of the weekend, Dragon Age was one of my more anticipated titles to see and get hands-on with. Well I did get hands-on with it, briefly, for as long as I could stand to keep my eyes on that screen.
You know that feeling you get when you look at a really ugly person? Like, really ugly? So ugly that you don’t even feel guilty for thinking the person is unattractive? And no matter how much the view offends your eyes, you just can’t look away?
Ubisoft were pulling out all the stops at this year’s Eurogamer Expo: along with the astonishing 3D version of Avatar, we were treated to a sizeable chunk of Assassin’s Creed II.
As if that weren’t enough, they even roped in one last minute surprise: Sam Fisher.
We took loads of photos (well, I took a load of photos) at Eurogamer over the course of two absolutely brilliant days. While we still have plenty of things to come over the next couple of days, I figured it’d be cool to share some photos with you so you could see what you missed out on.
You might even be in some of them! Check them out over the jump. (more…)
Mighty Mutt, Yamster, Krelith and Pillowfort’s debut podcast. With these fine gentlemen behind the wheel what could go wrong? Well, what could go right? Listen as they discuss their hopes for the (then) upcoming Eurogamer Expo. It’s like the Red Show, but with sexier accents.
The sound quality isn’t brilliant on this first one by the way: it gets better with the next few though. So be sure to listen to them all. They’re all very good.

See my title? Did you see what I did there? I made a fun-pun. Head over the jump for less puns and more coverage of Splash Damage’s upcoming sci-fi shooter – Brink.
Heavy Rain, as you may have read yesterday, is shaping up to be a pretty special game. It’s not your typical “gamer’s game”. There are, in the words of the game’s creator David Cage, “no fighting, no zombies, no driving”: it’s a game you play for the sake of the storyline, to share the feelings of the characters as you would in a good movie.
This is important. So important in fact, that if Chuck Norris approached you and said, “Hey, the contents of this box I’m holding are REALLY important,” you’d be all like, “No way Mr Norris, this article on SG is more important than your box. Goodbye, and I loved you in Forced Vengeance.”
