Introduce yourself, go! The weekend of a great personal tragedy (discovery that there were no more "Firefly" episodes), I happened upon Sarcastic Gamer's call for writers. Doc, Dave and Rothbart then helped me out of another pickle a few months later, so I've more or less become Sarcastic Gamer's first ever indentured servant. I have come to find my masters cruel...but fair.
What do you do in your freetime? Juggling Sarcastic Gamer, gaming, and keeping my wife from breaking all my electronics with a ball-peen hammer.
So you were in the Army? US Army Ranger. You know all that stuff from Modern Warfare 2 with Keith David? Yeah, that was all based on my time in Iraq, although I never ran around with a Javelin trying to have someone shoot me so I would explode like a UAV-fired Predator missile.

Mass Effect 2: Too Early to Call Game of the Year?

February 8th, 2010 · 5 Comments

Impressive, huh? It’s only February, and we’ve already had uber space opera Mass Effect 2 scoring over 40 perfect scores across “Game Review Land!” Looking across the release landscape for the year, I can’t really see any major titles that will put a dent in the Normandy’s hull.
Of course, I’m biased. I’ve loved every [...]

[GAME] in 30 Seconds! Dark Void

February 1st, 2010 · 2 Comments

Four weeks, four [GAME]s.  I’m on a hot streak.  Okay, okay, the Army of Two one was a little predictable, but come on, what else would you pick on about that game?  Huh?  Exactly.
I think my streak ends next week, as I have absolutely no idea what the hell I’m going to do for Mass [...]

U.S. Navy Says Gaming Makes You Smartr…I Mean, Smarter

February 1st, 2010 · 2 Comments

I knew I was special the minute I started playing Adventure on my Atari 2600.  I could feel my brain growing in ways that my friends and family, who were watching “The Dukes of Hazard,” would likely never feel.
Twenty years later, while standing atop the piles of flaming corpses,  after crushing my enemies and hearing [...]

January 30th, 2010 · 2 Comments

What?
WHAT?  How in the hell…?  I played the first Lost Planet, but this trailer…let’s just say if you haven’t seen this reveal yet, you’re in for a shocker.
Or maybe the big reveal is the preview still they used…oh, and the title they gave the trailer.  Never mind.   Still neat though.  Wonder how they’re going to [...]

King of the Wasteland 2010: Fallout New Vegas or Metro 2033?

January 28th, 2010 · 3 Comments

Between 2008-2009, Fallout 3 and Borderlands took nuclear devastated wastelands and desert landscapes and made them all fun and cuddly!  I mean, who doesn’t just want to pick up and squeeze those shotgun-wielding midgets from Borderlands, or get a big ol’ bear hug from a raging Super Mutant hopped up on Rad-x and Nuka Cola?  [...]

Modern Warfare 2 Community Team Update, January 27th

January 27th, 2010 · 3 Comments

I have a real problem delegating authority.  I was born under the “if you want something done right, do it yourself” mindset.
Then came the day I realized that I couldn’t do it all and had to lean on others who had the time and ability to carry out basic orders.  Sometimes, you have to let [...]

February 2010 Release Schedule

January 26th, 2010 · 8 Comments

Over Christmas break, I put together a “First Quarter 2010 Release Schedule”, which a lot of people genuinely appreciated.  But as most of you are aware, game publishers have been hopping and popping these last few months.  Games are getting shoved around more than a fourth grader wearing a helmet on a playground, which makes [...]

SG Review: Dark Void

January 25th, 2010 · 1 Comment

Dark Void has provided me with a unique journey.  No, no, I’m not singing its praises, I’m just saying that my playthroughs (yes, multiple) of the game have been…interesting.
My experience was unique as I had both a 360 and PS3 copy of the game (thanks, Gamefly), so I played it first on 360 and then [...]
