What do you do in your free time? I don’t watch much television, so when I am not at work, I like to surf the Internet. If I am not doing that, then I am probably toilet papering retirement homes. Do you want an Egg McMuffin? Not now, but maybe later.
Nintendo recently reported its six-month financial results for the first half of the current fiscal year, and the Kyoto, Japan-based publisher and developer had a pretty good haul, though certainly well below company expectations. According to data obtained by Gamasutra, total profit for the period came in at a cool $772 million, a 52 percent [...]
Sit down and strap yourself in. I’m about to turn your world upside down. After this, you might question everything you know. Does the combination of blue and red really make purple? Is Tupac dead? Are Vienna Sausages really made with chicken, beef and pork? It’s highly possible that you could be driven to the [...]
I’m really looking forward to BioShock 2. I haven’t spent much time talking about it, mainly because my focus has been on fall 2009 titles, but expect that to change as the Feb. 9, 2010, global launch approaches. For me, the game once subtitled Sea of Dreams is second only to God of War III, [...]
Christian Slater. Elton John. Jake “The Snake” Roberts. What do they have in common? They have nothing to do with this topic. I just needed an introduction for my article.

Visceral Games’ upcoming adaptation of Dante’s Inferno has been a lightning rod for controversy. Since the official reveal, it’s been one big ado after another. The game has been decried as an affront to the revered poem, and Electronic Arts’ marketing tactics haven’t been safe from scrutiny either. Of particular note was the ill-advised “Sin [...]
I hope Australians enjoy a zombie apocalypse sans “decapitation,” “dismemberment” and “wound detail,” because that’s exactly what they are going to get with Left 4 Dead 2. According to a GamePolitics report, Electronic Arts has lost its appeal to the Office of Film and Literature Classification, meaning that Valve’s backup plan – a heavily sanitized [...]
Warning: This article contains massive spoilers, so if you haven’t put a bow on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves yet, I suggest you divert your curious eyes.
It’s no secret that I’m a huge Tim Schafer fan. I’ve been pretty open about it since day one. Dude could mail me a letterhead featuring a simple doodle and vague release date, and I would probably set aside $60 without a thought. There aren’t many game designers who command that level of respect from [...]
I might not approve of U2’s music or Bono’s smugness, but I can definitely get behind the band’s appraisal of music games. Essentially, they’re alright. Radical even.
At first glance, BioWare’s launch DLC for Dragon Age: Origins seems like an evil scheme to charge consumers for content that could have been included on the disc. That’s the conclusion I jumped to anyway. Good thing I read the press release in its entirety, rather than rushing to WordPress to post a spirited reaction.
As of this draft, Valve’s hotly anticipated Left 4 Dead 2 is still without a rating Down Under, though the studio is doing its damnedest to change that.
Apparently, being a sequel to one of the best-selling Xbox 360 and PC games of 2008 isn’t enough. Left 4 Dead 2 has already generated significant excitement, but Valve wants to put some additional marketing muscle behind the project, recently announcing a $25 million ad campaign to promote the November 17 release. Yes, $25 million. [...]
