A new video of the Convoy gameplay in Gears of War 2 was released yesterday, and I’ve got to say that my excitement for the game has started to grow. I wasn’t a big fan of the first installment, but from what I’ve seen so far in Gears 2, they’re fixing quite a few of the problems I had.

Thus far, Grand Theft Auto 4 is THE game of 2008. It’s the first next-gen GTA, and on par with Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, and Halo 3 as big-name releases. Some are calling it a cultual touchstone, whatever that is. Whether you like the game, or not, you cannot deny the impact it’s had.

When I turn on my Xbox 360, it’s connected to a nice little Magnavox HDTV/Monitor using the VGA cord at a resolution of 1280 x 768 (I personally think it looks better than using the HD cables.) It’s not as good as a high-cost display, but it does its job and was quite cheap. Since that purchase, I’ve never had to play another game in standard def except for the Wii, which didn’t bother me that much. I wonder why?

Well, I recently had the chance to head back into 2003 and play GTA IV on a Standard Definition TV. Suddenly, the cheap little monitor I have seemed like heaven.

A while back, I needed a second Xbox 360 controller, so I bought one of the sleek black ones. This one soon became my controller of choice, simply because of the color. Sadly, a problem has recently appeared with my joystick. Now I didn’t think much of it until I was in a game with two other people with almost the exact problem.

Those are odds you can put money on.

There are many things I dislike in games. Some of them are as simple as the dialog or story, then there are some that drive me absolutely crazy. I can suffer through a bad story if the gameplay is fun, but poor gameplay designs can become inexcusable, only a couple of hours into the game.
