Sarcastic Gamer community raises $950 for young hero

June 21st, 2009 · 3 Comments

Last week we made our readers aware of a young hero named Amber, who’s courage in the face of Cystic Fibrosis is truly inspiring.  During my brief visit with Amber she mentioned how much she’d love to have a green wristband for the non-profit that she and her family started, Ambers-Angels.org.
With just two blog posts [...]

There’s still time to help make BIGGER smiles

June 17th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Monday, we asked the community to step up and help bring a smile to a heroic young lady in Austin.  This evening I am very pleased to report that Amber, who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, will be getting those “green bracelets” de-embossed with her charity’s website, Ambers-Angels.org.
After just one blog post, and countless retweets from [...]

inFamous getting repetitive (you can say that again)

June 11th, 2009 · 13 Comments

While totally in love with the gameplay offered by inFamous for the PS3, the missions towards the end of what I assume to be the first act were really wearing on me. Essentially: kill all the reapers.
This game is fun but incredibly repetitive.  I mean the game repeats itself.  It’s the same thing over and over.  [...]

Red Faction: Guerrilla dried out my corneas (in a good way)

June 8th, 2009 · 3 Comments

I’m going to keep this short because frankly every minute I spend typing this blog post is a minute that I am NOT playing Red Faction:Guerilla, my favorite game thus far this year.  If you’re on the fence about dropping three AndyJacks on it, get the hell down from there.
I can tell how special a [...]

June 8th, 2009 · No Comments

E3 09: Hands-on with MAG

June 8th, 2009 · 1 Comment

So one of the highlights of E3 for me this year was the time I got to spend playing MAG. MAG is ANOTHER first person shooter, coming this fall for the PS3. While the game felt great, what really sets MAG apart is the rindokulous 256-person multiplayer attribute. Using some pretty fancy [...]

E3 09: much better with actual human beings in the building

June 3rd, 2009 · 1 Comment

Last year I lamented the “whining” by seasoned bloggers and journalists that E3 had lost its identity by way of the massive crowds that were a part of its former self.  Last year’s event, while easier to navigate was indeed something like a hotel owner’s convention.
This year, with literally thousands of people paying the 500 [...]
