SG-PSP 169: Screw It

January 13th, 2012 at 1:41 pm · 12 Comments

The Blu show is back to tell you the good news about Sony. January is a slow news month, but Rothbart, PacMan Polar Bear and Frawlz scrounged enough news bits to discuss Sony closing BigBig studio, Foxconn’s nets, AT&T’s 3G Vita price plans, a roomah, and a few more nuggets of Sony goodness. There’s bonus content for SG iphone and android app users.

We appreciate you guys taking time out of your day every week to listen to our show. For your convenience, you can simply download the MP3 by clicking HERE or if you’re one of those “set it and forget it” types, you can subscribe via iTunes, RSS, or Zune and stay in “real time.”

I love the show but if I may just speak for all SG fans I don’t want to be told this was a matter of split opinions and thats why we are all leaving. I want to know what happened that 99.9999% of the staff is going. Lets be honest it wasn’t that the 2 cup cake a year raise was pulled so WTF man. Oh an another great show guys. Ahhh Podcasts! The life blood of SG. Hey look I think this BitC4 needs a transfusion.

The main reason that everyone is leaving is because they helped raise so much money for Extra-Life and they where so afraid that if they tried this year that they weren’t gonna do well at all, so they decided to abandon ship while it’s still good. It doesn’t matter why everyone else left, just know that everything will be fine.

Hmm…they didn’t even make it that far after 162. It would have been nice to see a show break 200.

None of that is true. Everyone is still on-board for Extra Life, and this year will be even bigger than last year. Extra Life is no longer part of SG, it’s its own entity, which we can support from anywhere we choose. In fact, I expect to raise more money via the new site, but Extra Life was never a factor in the move or anything else.

And Da Blu Show will still pass 200 since our show is not ending, just moving, like the other current podcasts are too.

I was joking about the first paragraph and I came up with a complete BS reason why everyone left.

I also meant under, the SG Banner, The Blu Show didn’t make it that far after Red. I know your show will continue and I hope I get to enjoy 500+ episodes.

Yea I knew that was a hog wash sandwhich with BS fries but still think what ever the issues where should be brought to light. While I know everyone probably wants it to stay tucked away you cant just say oh la de dah we all just feels likes its a good time to movin outa here. I mean come on this site was huge, and you can’t expect us all to be like oh nothing wrong and if there is just ummmm….. these are not the droids your looking for. Cant use your damn mind tricks on us SG staff/ex staff.

@BabyWithSwitchBlades, I’m betting with very little deduction you could probably guess the ballpark of the answer even though the absolute specifics won’t be obvious. Try making a list of the staff that doesn’t fit into the “99.9999%” figure you said would be sticking together. It’s an interesting and lonely list. A list that probably won’t surprise many people…

I get it that some how one person F’ed up, but enough to kill the SG? Something that is that big is just something that’s hard to wrap my head around is all, and if it wasn’t that big then I don’t understand the point in everyone high tailing it from the SG.

Then you underestimate how big of an asshole that one particular person can be. The staff put up with it for years, but there’s only so far you can push people. They banned together and left to send a message to not only that asshole but the anyone that might want to work with / follow said asshole in the future.

I guess all the average listeners just never saw the everyday behind the seen stuff which is why it comes to a shock to us. Wishing everyone the best but it is what it is I guess. I just am still surprised one problem no matter the size could bring down the SG.

I don’t want to give anyone too much credit, but sometimes… when the pile of BS is SOOOO big, it’s just easier to move than to try to clean it up.

Think of it like a bankruptcy advisor would… at the end of [some time period] would you be better off starting anew or if you spent the recovery time trying to clean up the mess. We’re taking the “starting anew” method because we think it will be cleaner, quicker, and MUCH better for us than trying to clean up the seemingly endess supply of various BS. I mean if we could bottle the BS and find a buyer, maybe we’d stay (and all be infinitely rich) but alas, we’re not lucky enough to find someone that wants to buy bottled BS.
