You guys kill me when it comes to games with online communities everytime. You’ll hype up a game, say you wanna run a clan, play with the sg community for a bit, then drop it, never come to the game again and leave the people who still enjoy playing the game with you guys to go on the the next new game.

As for DCUO, yes its a grind that’s no doubt about that. That’s what currently where end game is at the moment. Grinding marks of triumph/distinction to get the tier 1/2 gear. If that gear is not what you want? Then of course you’ll be disinterested in the game.

Lono your issues with the Duos. At level 30 the game changes. The way you were playing pre 30 won’t work post 30. There’s an unspoken rule that you don’t queue up for duos or Hard Alerts(I know you guys at SG have this thing about stuff should be explained to you ingame). Only because if you do that, y0u’ll get paired up with newbie 30s who have no experience on how to run through the Duo/Hard Alert and/or a ninja looter(who will just hit need on all items dropped regardless if you need it and they can’t even equip it). Shouting for group before you do a Duo/Hard Alert will get you people that are at least competent and logical on how to finish Duo/Hard Alerts.

Expensive repairing: 2 grand is definitely not enough. How to make money? Do level 30 daily quests. The ones were you get at the terminals of each wing. Yes you did them before pre 30 but it does 3 things for you. 1) Finishing daily quests you’ll get marks of Allegiance for your faction gear(Not iconic gear but better than nothing). 2) You’ll get cash/other gear as you progress the quest. 3) Beating the end boss of these daily quests will reward you with iconic character equipment(eg Cyborg’s Hand Cannon blaster or Supergirl’s boots). And it goes back to what I said about post 30 being different than pre 30. You can’t take 4/5 enemies at once like you did pre 30. So you can tread and plan carefully.

So back to repairing. If you’re doing Duo/Hard Alerts and you’re dying? After the second or third death you should repair rather than wait til it breaks to be less expensive.

8bit. The reason why you can’t sell it back is because your characters are attached to your psn account. So if by any chance you were able to sell the game back, the person buying the used game would get jacked cause I believe SOE will not provide a new code for their own account.

Keadin. The only explaination I would say for the character creation is…You’re not a legend yet. As you progress your costume evolves. DC characters in general have a set look. For your character it will be the basic look for whatever theme you want it to be. If you want to go by the story given to you then you were teleported onto Brainac’s ship. Your character either was in the city wearing street clothes, on a mission in your military gear, in your village doing some magic in some way, or your skin was mutated in a different form before you woke up.

Man I’m really sorry for the long post. It’s a shame that you guys moved on cause I would have loved to have gone adventuring with you guys or with the SG community. Because at it’s current baby stage it’s a great community game.

I see the growth of the character being an important factor for developing affinity, but it can’t be exclusively for the end game; a player needs to care enough to get there in the first place.

It wasn’t the visuals so much as the power structure that irked me. In an effort to make the games balanced the characters don’t feel really unique. I can’t make a Green Arrow character without adding gliding or super speed, which feels wrong. It forces me to have powers and abilities that don’t suit my design and because of that the character never feels like mine.

Visually I’m fine with the way my character looks, but structurally he’s always had abilities and powers that don’t fit.

@Marcopolo nice post. I see you are a fan lol.

Sometimes, we are really into a new game for a while only to discover that over time, there are issues that we can no longer ignore, or that new ones come up.

For a MMO RPG to half any kind of level progression at level 30 seems kinds weird to me, and if you have no buddies online to grind with, or you are one of the few level 30, then you end up playing alone. Paying 15 a month to play alone just sucks.

Also for a console game to not be re-sellable yet unplayable on single player is absolutely unforgivable for me.

I guess I have learned my lesson by buying a console MMORPG.

@8bitBass Tbh I wasn’t going to get this game cause I was waiting for Final Fantasy XIV for the ps3 but after the news that it was on hold indefinitely I turned my attention to DCUO. And to add the fact that you guys were the reason to I fully made the decision to purchase it in the first place. I wanted to relive those MAG gamernights.

I also did feel that level 30 was a low level cap but its the first time I ever hit end cap in a mmo so personally I’m excited to do the endgame stuff. I do agree if you don’t have friends or a community that’s interested in the game will ruin an mmo experience. Yeah I got nothing about not being able to sell the game back if you don’t like your experience with it lol. I can only say the bright side is if by any chance you’re interested in checking back with the game your half naked speedo character with a cape will always be there waiting haha.

Wow. And I was just going to ask Lono to change the channel.
If I hear yet another week of either BullestStorm or Killzone 3 I am going to get annoyed.
More specifically it seems at least this year Lono can’t be stuffed talking about anything other than FPS that he is playing.

He was quick to ignore Two Worlds II and doesn’t really care about Dragon Age. Bullet Swear was meadiocre at best but oh becuase Lono likes it that’s all anyone is talking about!!

Back to the Future the game, Beyond good and evil, Torchlight, Dragon Age 2, Yars Revenge, Case West and Two Worlds… what gives

Oh and here is why I am not impressed with Bulletstorm:
