  • ShowStopper

    Just.. frickin’.. awesome..

  • Yoshifett

Thank you ShowStopper! It was so much fun to do.

  • Someone Else

Oh man, this should be good to listen to.

  • KCohere

Given how much Yoshi hated the finale, Im kind of afraid to listen.

    • Yoshifett

KC, you got to get over “hate” vs. “love” of the finale. I thought it was disappointing and subpar, but I still may have some interesting things to say about the ending. Smelly loved it, and I’ve had a great time discussing our different viewpoints. If we both agreed, that’d be boring.

  • PortTech

All that the finale told me was that way back in the first episode when the plane crashed, everyone died and the island is purgatory, where they have been stuck for 6 seasons till they all go into the light at the end of the finale. If you listen to jack’s dad just before they went through the door, he says that they were all dead.

    • http://www.sarcasticgamer.com Lono

if that’s what you think PortTech, then you REALLY need to listen to this podcast, because you couldn’t be more wrong.

      • Timewarp

Yeah but it’s still just he’s opinion, he’s not claiming it’s right just that well that’s what he thinks happened.

I’d like to think the flash sideways was purgatory like everyone else and that the light took them to heaven.

Except Mr.Eko because he’s mean and he hits people with he’s big stick.

    • Yoshifett

Yeah, he said they were all dead, but he was just talking about the flashsideways universe. They spelled that out very clearly – not to mention the fact that nearly everyone, from the writers to the actors have confirmed over and over in previous years that the island was not purgatory, a dream, etc. It was really. Christian even tells Jack that it was real.

  • PortTech

I listened to the podcast, Good speculation, but I respectfully disagree, just my opinion. You sighted the fact that at the end ben told Locke that he didnt need the chair anymore, indicating that he was dead, but Locke also didnt need the chair on the island. If they were all alive on the island, why are the people that made it off on the plane at the end also dead in the church? There just seem to be too many wholes in your theory that they were alive while on the island, but again, thats just my opinion.

    • DeltaNu

They were alive on the island. That’s the whole reason why they gathered together in the end. The time they spent together was the most important time in each of their lives. Apparently their souls refused to move on without their most important companions.

Christian said, “some died before you, and some died long after you.” Simple explanation for the bunch that made it off on the plane.

As each person died, they went to this “pleasant purgatory” where they awaited (unknowingly) the arrival of everyone else.

I’m more curious as to the actual explanation as to why Jack was so reluctant to believe it. It took him coming into contact with I believe 5 or 6 different people before he woke up. Then again, it was primarily a Jack centric story. Might have felt weird if Hurley and Ben were the last to “wake up”.

  • Cydonia

Because everyone dies eventually. The group that got off the Island lived the rest of their life until they died. Hurley and Ben protected the Island until they died. Once everyone was dead, they all moved on to whatevers next together.

    • Yoshifett

      Exactly.

  • jaxboxchick

I watched every darned episode of LOST, I loved that show like I have loved no other show ever. I drank many a bottle of wine while watching it. If anyone should have been on this stupid podcast it should have been ME!

    • Yoshifett

We would have loved to have you. Lost is also my favorite show of all time, literally the only show I’ve ever followed closely.

Those of you who think that the island was purgatory, I think you need to go rewatch the final scene. Christian specifically says that everthing on the island really happen. The only part that was purgatory was the flashsideways from season six. That’s not up for debate, it’s spelled out clearly on the show. It’s like debating whether or not Jack was really a doctor. The show made it clear.

  • aleraiders

is anyone having trouble downloading this lostcast???

  • PortTech

its open for interpretation, im just saying thats not how i interpreted it.

  • PortTech

Ok, I just rewatched the ending, I can see that you may all be right, but if so, there was enough people on that island to fill the church, where are the the rest of them?
