Have you reached that point in your life where you’re tired of today’s porno and want to see women portrayed in an elegant classy form… while still naked?  Well, you can avoid leaving your house to try to find the oldies with 2K Games’ upcoming sequel Mafia II.

2K Games has confirmed that they have signed a license agreement with Playboy magazine to feature over 50 vintage covers and centerfolds in Mafia II. This was done in an effort to add to the realism of the game’s 1950’s setting.

According to the president of 2k Games Christoph Hartmann, “In partnering with Playboy, we are able to add a unique element of authenticity to the game by using vintage images from the magazine that illustrate the power of Playboy’s influence on the attitudes and culture of that generation.”

Playboy began to entice the imagination of men nationwide in December 1953, and ever since then has been a powerhouse in the adult industry.  Considering Mafia II developers are trying to stay as true to the times as possible, showcasing the pinup girls of the era seemed to be a good move.

Jimmy Jellinek, Playboy magazine’s editorial director, summed it up pretty well, “Mafia II is set when Playboy first came into vogue and features characters whose style and attitudes mirror content from our early issues.  We’re excited to bring an element of authenticity to the game that is unmatched in the men’s publishing category.”

No word on this having anything to do with boosting sells with the young male audience, who upon hearing about this little add-on might start begging their parents for raises in their allowances come this fall.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Mafia series, Mafia II is the sequel to the popular third-person shooter Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven that initially came out on PC.  It later made its debut on the PS2 and Xbox in 2004.  The original sold over two million copies, while the console distributions suffered quite a loss.  Regardless, the game itself received very good reviews and to this day still has a strong fan base.  So if you’re interested in a compelling narrative, on top of seeing boobies, look forward to Mafia II which is set to release between August and October of 2010.
