Guess what, Canada?
We are finally getting “some” of what all those people who are only a quick afternoon’s drive away have had for a long time now: a video store on the PSN! Why we sometimes have to wait so long for things like current hardware models, PSN cards, the video store and the PSP comic book store is anyone’s guess. I’m sure it’s all very legal and complicated and can only be understood if you have a PhD in douche-nomics. For the love of Megatron, we overlap across the board when it comes to entertainment media, but oh no, it’s too much trouble to think about the Canadians…let’s take care of Europe first, because that makes sense.
Bite me.
Of course we still don’t know when we are getting the video store exactly…only that it will be this year. Apparently the video store was confirmed by a Playstation Canada employee when speaking with Blackstaffer from PS3Blog. It sounds likely given Sony’s planned expansion of the PSN to their TV line, PC’s and Blu-ray players.
Still, when are we going to get the comic book store on the PSP?!
Oh, and Sony, PLEASE do something with Playstation.ca. As it stands now, its only purpose seems to be letting me know which hockey game will have a Playstation display. We can’t even have our own forum? Sheesh…the site is just a place holder. Be sure to use US.Playstation.com if you actually want to have access to forums or beta invites.
I’m not bitter though. It’s not like I have spent thousands of dollars on Sony products over the years or anything.

I think you are aiming your frustrations at the wrong people.
Sony is not to blame for the lack of a video store on PSN in Canada, you can thank the overbearing, out-dated and foolish CRTC for that.

Some of the CRTC’s rules and requirements are simply absurd.
Canada is a hotbed for digital media, we love our intwerwebs , even if it is piss-poor quality (bandwidth/caps/dial-up for many) in many MANY areas of Canada.
Sony has been trying to get the video store in Canada since it launched.
So again, try to direct your anger at the right targets, in this case it’s the CRTC you should be slamming.
^ While the CRTC has something to do with it, I can’t just blame them. The Video marketplace on XBL was available in Canada soon after the States. So were a number of online PC video services. Even if the CRTC made it tough, Sony definitely could have moved faster.
sure my psn doesn’t have the movies I want, but hey, I can still do it the old fashion way and go out and rent it
