Infinity Ward ‘Kornholing Koalas? No sign of relief for Oz Modern Warfare 2 players

“Infinity Ward continues to ignore our pleas for assistance,” says Matt, a dedicated Modern Warfare 2 fan out of Sydney, Australia.  ”We still can’t get a game without lag”.

Despite a 96-page thread on their forums, nobody, including IW Community Manager Robert Bowling, has as yet responded to this obvious shortcoming that seems to impact Australian Xbox 360 players most dramatically.

Last night, MosEisley and watched with pity as SG Community member Manniefold was dropped from match after match.  One can’t help but wonder  where on the priority list the Australian gaming community ranks for Activision and IW.  No doubt if this issue was happening in the United States, there would be an emergency patch rushed through Xbox’s Quality Control process.

“It’s so bad, I have to lead all my targets by an inch on my TV,” Mannie fold told me.  ”If it weren’t for all this lag, I’d be number one and level 70.”

Yeah, right Mannie.

    You know what I find funny as hell about this. I am always getting reports on how Certain Xbox games are getting lag lately and also i always here how amazing XBOX LIVE is…. because of the fact you pay for it??? I have MW2 and a tune of other games for the PS3 and I have not once had a problem with lag and a problem with the network.
    Mostly lag from what i know of it is how well your system talks to the router and how well that streaming signal is feed to the network such as Xbox live and psn. So how is it Infinity Wards fault? Blame here is strictly on the users connection and the Xbox Live servers. PSN and PS3 your doin fine.

    i’m from New Zealand and know nothing about networks, bit rates etc but what i find wierd is how inconsistent the ping seems to be. some games against US players start out fine with plenty of green bars then part way through it drops right out. i guess there’s heaps of factors – a big one probably being our rubbish IT infrastructure here! would be great if there was something IW could do to help though.

    It really irks me when people say it is people’s internet connection that causes this issue, maybe BabyWithSwitchBlades should go read the friggin posts about this issue? My internet is fine, I am a gamer on PC & Xbox.. I have had games on xbox live with no lag. I do know about networks and etc and it has absolutely zero to do with our internet connection.

    It has to do with the match making system connecting us to the closest US host… I have been in a game where I had green bars (it is the only green one ive had since patch) and we all had green bars with the exception of 2 people.. when the next map loaded, the 2 dudes with yellow were the only green, because yes, you guessed it, they were American and the game gave one of them Host.

    Every single game, with the exception of the above, has been yellow or red, because i am being connected to American hosts, or an American will join our game and they will be given host.

    PC & PS3 had the same issues, but IW had released a patch and fixed it, even the PS3 dudes on the IW forums have acknowledges this.

    You are clueless, sorry, but your ignorance and others like you on this issue really shit me up the wall.

    The match making system is currently fucking pathetic on the 360 at the moment. But what makes it even worse is that the PS3 and PC have received a fix in patch 1.05 but the 360 got snubbed for no apparent fucking reason. Patch 1.05 has greatly improved the match making system for everyone, even the fucking ignorant yanks that assume we’re British.

    Yet Infinity Ward are still expecting us to “wait and see” for the millionth time and trust them that they’re going to get around to implementing this latitude / longitude patch they’ve been blabbing on about? When mother fuckers? WHEN!? It better be as soon as possible or I’m never buying another one of their unpolished turds products ever again.

    P.S. Thanks for the plug to my thread, but it’s not quite at 96 pages yet. I originally made a local match making thread in the months before the game was released asking whether or not they were going to add a local search. After being ignored for 137 pages 402 comes and says that MW2 won’t have a local search but will have “better automatic match making” and that he would accept feedback on it after launch. Now that we’ve called him out on his bullshit lies and pathetic match making system he’s nowhere to be found. Pussy.

    Playing it on PC here in Aus and it seems OK, but I would never touch either console versions for the above reasons.

    Left 4 Dead 2 is much worse both on PC and console.

    Love the Australian coverage on SG, don’t forget to talk about our prices and censorship problems too!

    I play with various members of the Australian Defence Force.

    Zero-lag games. 12 of us in matchmaking, and nobody ever leaves. We vote for which playlist to play, and we can actually level up. Everybody tends to play more as a team because they know each other, too.

    At this point, I play with over 40 people from the ADF, even though most of them aren’t on my list.
