With the launch of LEFT4DEAD2 on Steam last night, a new wave of the zombie horde is upon us! Keeping yourself away from the threat of brain munching may be more difficult than ever, but at least this time around you have even more tools to get the job done. With a host of new weapons including melee weapons to help get up close and personal, and in case things go slightly awry (and by”awry”, I mean having your face gnawed of by a zombie) then the new defibrillator should help save the day.

Aside from having the right tools for the job, the best thing we can do in the face of this AI directed zombie apocalypse is to gather as many survivors together in one place and all try and fight this thing together.  So here at Sarcastic Gamer 4 codes for copies of the game we have acquired (on Steam) to give to the most Sarcastic Survivors we can find. We want to get you playing the game by the end of the day, so you are going to have to be quick on the draw…

For the ideal team of zombie slayers you need to have a mixture of people with various differing skills. That is why we have devised 4 cunningly planned tasks to prove you excel in one of these areas. The Sarcastic Gamer forum member that can rise to one of these challenges will be declared the winner – with each winner receiving a code for a FULL COPY of the game to download via the excellent Steam service (if you are the one person on the planet that hasn’t heard of Steam, then don’t worry…that’s free too – no catches, just a full free game to play on release day!)

SO, WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO?

Respond to one of the four following competitions, one entry (per competition) per forum member only, winners will be judged on merit and level of sarcasm applied to the task.

Aside from the INSTA-WIN prize, all competition entries will have to be in by 12pm midnight (BST) TODAY, so I can judge them and get the codes to you before bedtime – PLEASE DO NOT ENTER IF YOU ARE NOT OLD ENOUGH TO RECEIVE YOUR FREE COPY OF THE GAME (if you have to ask anything about that, the answer is probably no)

If, for any reason, a winner is not found for any competition today, then the competition roles on to the next night – as always, my decision is final, unless I change my mind.

4 Competitions, 4 prizes, 4 winners, in less than 4 hours!

1. Fastest Trigger Fingers First

Speed kills, apparently, and that goes for zombies too. You are going to have to be fast on those triggers to keep those pesky zombies at bay. First one to exhibit their skills of rapid response by posting the phrase “I don’t like zombies, zombies don’t like Steam but I love Steam and hate zombies – I win because I am the fastest” will win the prize.

2. One Good Eye For Zombie Design, one bad eye for survivors

You need to have good eyes to keep a look out for impending zombie attacks and it also helps to know your zombie foes and be able to quickly distinguish them from your fellow survivors.

Using the Sarcastic Smilies below, redesign or redraw – Doc, Dave, Lono and Lesley in either the style of the survivors in Left4Dead2 or as the zombies or special infected (or a mix of the three) To give you an idea how to start I have included the designs I did last year for Left4Dead.

3. Taking Command of The Situation – Lono Style!

Anyone that has played with Lono will know of his tendency to take charge of a situation (mainly through yelling at those around him).  We need a natural born leader to take charge of our zombie survival team; do you have the lungs for the job?

Upload a video or audio file of your best impression of Lono taking charge of the situation as a wave of zombies hit. File must be approximately 20-30 secs long and contain no swear words, homophobic acronyms, racial slurs or other words or phrases liable to cause offense. Funniest/most accurate impression of Lono wins (no, Lono, you can not enter = P)

4. Hair, there and everywhere

The all important issue of Left4Dead2 and facial hair has come up recently. Did Bill lose his place in the line up because of his beard? Does Chet from Valve’s shaving of his beard have deeper meaning? I am overly concerned about the beard versus zombie debate, just because I am currently cultivating my own facial hair? We have questions people! – and no answers!

So this beard vs. zombie debate can finally be resolved, we need more experimentation – the final prize will go to anyone that has a greater beard than myself. Post a pic of your epic man fuzz, the fuzziest photo wins.

While I am well aware that this is easily cheatable by posting a pic of Beardy McBeardison and saying it is you, instead of asking the internets for honesty, I will give those less bearded-able this “get out clause” – if you don’t have a beard to call your own, you can add a beard to a famous gaming character – if the beard posted is not as epic as my own, then the funniest bearded character pic will win the prize.
