Hey, guys! This post is the result of an idea I had for a short series of articles based on useful tips I might have to share with you, combined with tapping you to answer questions I myself have related to gaming. Asking you is MUCH easier than using Google myself… I’m all about “the lazy!”… just ask my ex-wife!
No really, ask her! She loves to be called at 3:00am, her phone number is 541-4… wait… Lono says I shouldn’t do that. Damned attorneys and their legal advice!
Tips and taps, after the jump…
Tip: Gamesharing on the PS3
With the recent price cut, more and more people are buying PlayStation 3’s (or even 2nd and 3rd ones given the PS3’s ability to deal with digital media so well), but did you realize you can share your already purchased downloadable content across multiple PS3s?
Okay…who am I kidding?
This is of more interest for sharing someone else’s purchases than sharing with yourself. Your best friend has been trying to get you to get a PS3 forever and now that you have one, you don’t know what to buy for it, right? Guess what, you can Gameshare your PSN purchases with each other!
Have your friend come over and create a profile for himself on your PS3. Now, have him link his PSN account to that profile (for ease of downloading future purchases, I’d recommended having it save their PSN password.) Have him go into the PS Store and view his download history. Just about anything he re-downloads on your console will be playable there (by anyone) as long as his profile stays on your PS3.
Yes, you read that right. Just about anything. Warhawk? Wipeout HD? Fat Princess? Super Stardust HD? Uno? If your friend bought those, now you have them too! Just make sure you’re not a total douche… go set your account up on his PS3 and buy a few games to share with him so he can get a break as well.
Oh, this totally doesn’t work with video content or PSP games though, sorry.
I should point out that you REALLY need to trust the person you’re Gamesharing with as they could theoretically empty out your PS Wallet (or charge onto your credit card) if they were careless and/or malicious. Yes, some of you will point out there are ways to protect yourself and that this can be accomplished over the internet with (relative) strangers, but I don’t really consider those uses in line with what Sony was trying to do here and they can still get you into a bind, so it’s best just stick to trusted personal friends (or multiple consoles you yourself own) and everything will be just fine!
Just think of this as your own personal 50% off sale… all the time!
Last little tidbits: yes, this is officially sanctioned by Sony but you’re limited to 5 Gameshares per title (although if you’ve got more than 5 PS3s and/or friends you’re Gamesharing with, just buy multiple copies of the game, you greedy bastard!)
Okay, I made a good faith offering and gave you a tip (for the PS3), now I’m going to tap the SGC for help with a 360 question…

why isn’t lono an attorney? He’ld always win! Gamesharing is ok but i’m certain if too many people do this sony will catch wind and stop this, they did it with contiuing play and the other thing with the uncharted 1 demo.
Answer to your question:
Pull the batteries out of your controller and sync your Drums, the console will think the drums are the previous controller and sync it to whatever player the controller was.
You can push the home button on your Xbox controller and then press “x” to log out of your gamer tag. After that press the home button on your drums and and click “sign into an account.” Next, sign into your account on the list shown.
NOTE: The home button is the one in the middle and just tap it like you would any other button, don’t hold it down.
