Not wanting to mess with a formula people seem to love, Infinity Ward announced today that it’s first pack of single player story add-on DLC for Modern Warfare 2 will be very familiar in composition to gamers who already loved the campaign presented with the retail game disc.
“The ‘Way-To -Go Now Die!’ pack is something we’re very proud of,” said Infinity Ward’s Mike Fritzingham. “All 7 missions will feature some of the most incredible combat and chase sequences you’ve ever played, followed by the extreme emotional car crash of having done all that just to have your character blown away by a point-blank shot to the head. I mean, why mess with what works, right?”
In a related story, the first Multiplayer Map Pack is due in early January, and will reportedly contain at least 7 new online maps so enormous that you can’t quite memorize no matter how many times you’ve played them.

even better would be a “Continously get shot in the face” pack or a “commit acts of terriosm” pack just to get under lono’s skin and really piss him off and if infinity ward still hasen’t managed to upset people the “9/11 twin towers terriost level” pack where you go to an airport, hijack it and crash it into the twin towers whilst making sure the passengers don’t take over *NOW WITH AUTHENTIC CALLS MADE FROM THE PLANES DURING 9/11*
then if they still don’t cause an uproar infinity ward’s develepment team will proberly go around and actually kill people.
An “I’m-gonna-tea-bag-you-to-death” map would be awesomely disturbing. No guns. Just.. shafting.
This was funny and spot on. There is definitely something disturbing about taking a character through a challenging mission, only to watch him die in the first person. The gasoline poured on my body doesn’t help.

Speaking of the first person deaths, disturbing or not, it’s adds a great sence of realism and grittyness. It is a bit frustrating playing through on veteran fighting hard to get to the end of the level knowing you’re gunna’ die having preivously played on normal though… :p
