5. Are there plans to expand upon the DragonMarks already present in DDO? Is there any possibility of seeing the Mark of Death?

[Ian] Well the Mark of Death is sort of off the table as it’s explicitly extinct.  The only person on Eberron with it (Vol, the Undead Half-dragon Lich Queen of the Blood of Vol) can no longer use it since she became undead.  However, it’s possible that we’d add additional Dragonmarks to accompany additional race offerings and some of us would like to revisit and tweak existing Dragonmarks, but we don’t have any concrete plans at the moment.

6. The DDO Unlimited Store is easy to use, and well integrated. Can we expect any big changes in the immediate future? DDO has always been great at hosting big community events; are there any plans to hold events to allow non-VIP players the chance to earn extra Points?

[Ian] I think you’ll see the store naturally evolve over time and the offerings expanded – we certainly have some cool things in the works, from cosmetic items to often requested features like 32 point builds, etc.

Most of all we want to keep the experience fun -  and getting the community together for live events is definitely a part of our plan. We’re putting the final touches on some winter festival activities and anniversary events that you’ll see early next year and Turbine Points are something that we’re considering as rewards for these.

7. Finally, was the launch of DDO Unlimited as successful as you expected?

[Fernando] Most definitely, and then some! We have been blown away by how the game has been received by the fans and to see it taking off with thousands of new players joining the game every day. We’ve already tripled capacity on our servers and added a new server since launch with more ready to handle the growth we’re seeing.  We are thrilled to see more casual and solo players returning to the game while the number of subscribers is growing steadily as well.

[Ian] Even though we believed that if we ‘built it, they would come’, it was still surreal to see hundreds of thousands of new players in game and discovering how it wasn’t like anything they had played before.

[Fernando] We are delighted by all of the success and we look forward to some great updates which will be coming out soon and to a bright future for the DDO franchise!
