UPDATE: At 4:45 this morning, Amberlyn got her new lungs. I received a text from her mom saying that Amber’s new lungs were successfully “installed” and that she was doing well. Keep the prayers coming. This is simply a miracle…
Ironically, as we wrapped up Extra Life 2009 and celebrated your amazing efforts to raise money to heal kids, one of OUR kids, a young lady that the Sarcastic Gamer community kind of adopted a few months back, took a turn for the worse.
Amberlyn Fett suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, and has been at the very top of the lung transplant list for a long time. In late June, we introduced you to her, and told you about how, despite suffering from an illness for which there is NO cure, Amber has been doing for others. As a community we decided to applaud her efforts for other kids, by helping her promote Ambers-Angels.org with green bracelets.
Just as many of these bracelets are finally arriving in the mailboxes of the folks who donated to buy the bracelets for Amber, I received a text from her mom. It came this morning.
“They had to intubate Amberlyn. She has a breathing tube and is heavily sedated. She will stay like this until she gets her transplant.”
That’s all I have at the moment.
This young lady’s last and only hope is a lung transplant. While we certainly don’t wish harm on any other person, please pray for Amber. She needs a transplant so badly. Whatever your faith, please pray that this young lady gets to carry on her work on behalf of sick children, and that her family gets to enjoy a lifetime with her in it.
I will update you as I am updated.
Doc

I am praying for her. Lets hope she can get her transplant soon.
Its people like this that make me believe that there is truely good people in this world. And these people are the ones that make this world bearable to live in.

My heart and prayers are with Amber. Hopefully things turn for the better!
Our prayers are with her and her family.
Another angel on Earth who is truly inspirational.
I hate to see anyone suffering with life threatening diseases, but when it’s lovely people, like Amber it’s really sad. I really do hope she get’s better. I think she’s an inspiration to millions of people, Get Better soon!
Our prayers go out to Amber and her family.
I hope that she gets better, I really do as I care about individuals a lot and I really dislike seeing anyone suffer/become ill etc.
However, I do not pray for people because I do not believe that it does any good, I believe the most good we can do for a person is do everything we can to help them ourselves as individuals or as a group, physically.
I do honestly hope that she will become better though. If there was anything that I could do I would. I will be thinking of this brave female.

P.S. I do not mean to offend anyone.
I pray that Amber survives this ordeal.
Doc = Modern day hero
Could not agree more!!
I hope she can get one. If i could i would pull one of my own lungs from my body and give it to her.
Seeing people like this make me feel so bad. We take for grantide what we have, it’s so easy to say you have it bad but honestly ever since i first found out about terminal diseases like cancer it makes me glad i’m so fortunate to be as healthy as i am no boast and i’m not trying to be rude at all. These stories don’t usually end well. I pray that this time it does end well for amber and she does get the lung she needs.
Got my green band and letter in the mail yesterday and felt like bursting into tears…
I pray and hope for Amber and her family.
This is great news.
You should have her on the red show. When she is up to it of course. Pure inspiration.
Congrats, Amber.
Hang in there!
Does this mean she will be well from now on?
Thank God.
I lost a cousin to this wretched disease. All the very best for her continuing recovery.
