Ah, the concentration of the gene pool.  Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf united to create tiny tennis gods.  Nas and Kellis joined forces to birth some ultra sexy, milk-shaking rap supastars.  Demi Moore even enlisted the help of Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher to ensure her stock was rife with hollywood hotness.

Then there’s this guy; and her.

Once, in high school, I asked a girl to homecoming using a crudely written program I wrote on my TI-85 graphing calculator.  I was sure my place in the pantheon of nerd history was secure, but this guy has surely knocked me from my perch.  You see, this guy here (who shall remain nameless to protect his virtual butt crack from the inevitable barrage of inter-wedgies) proposed to his girlfriend with the help of a certain unwitting Italian plumber.

Point 1: This guy modded a 15 year-old video game to proposition the love of his life.

Point 2: His girlfriend is the kind of girl who mindlessly complies when her boyfriend says. “Hey, you should play some Super Mario World while I go into the other room for a minute.”

Point 3: Her reaction was so subdued that it seemed like she was more puzzled by the game glitching out than she was excited by the proposal.  The guy swears she was much more enthusiastic after the camera stopped rolling.  Sure.  And that chick I asked to homecoming asked me to write her another program after I spent half of the dance cowered in the corner playing Columns on my Game Gear.
