Hey, you know what every single gamer in the world wants more than anything? Old games! Just last week, I sat in the very chair I find myself residing in now, wishing that I could get my hands on even more re-releases of games of yesteryear. Fortunately – to my enormous delight – Steam has answered my call!
Recent nostalgic recurrences include Monkey Island, Final Fantasy, Turtles In Time and many others that I can’t seem to recollect at this particular point in time. And now Steam has announced the availability of five more classics deserving of sales within a period in which publishers seem afraid to release new games.
The five games in question are all old Interplay properties. For those among us wishing to experience (or revisit), the original Fallout titles that made it an epic franchise (pre-Bethesda), Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics are all available for you as of this moment, and these games can also be purchased as a bundle if you want all three for a cheaper net total. Also involved in this deal is classic mob-story, shotgun-wielding, tramp-slaying, money-grabbing, hooker-killing, gore-fest; Kingpin. And if that’s not enough for you, you can also get yours hands on the supposedly classic game I’ve never even heard of; Sacrifice!
If ever I’ve been glad to be a gamer, It’s right now! Who needs new games when relatively ancient ones are being released on such a regular and reliable basis?! I don’t need all these new-age HD graphics with superior sound quality and innovative gameplay mechanics, not when I have Steam crapping out classics like it has game-diarrhoea!
Come, people of the world! Partake in truest gaming nostalgia and ignore the fact that publishers are afraid to release new IPs!
Old reliables for the win… I guess.
