Each gamer has his or her own way(s) of coping with the current economic downturn. I myself travel to the sperm bank once a month, readily exchanging my swimmers for a quick infusion of cash. Couch change just doesn’t cut it anymore.
I know it’s cliché to blame the recession, but one can’t ignore its impact on the interactive entertainment industry.
Gaming can be an extremely expensive hobby, but if you practice patience, you can nab some solid titles on the cheap. As an example, Capcom recently announced that it will be releasing a three-game package on Sept. 8, consisting of Devil May Cry 4, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition and Dead Rising for the low price of $40. Holy tremendous bargains Batman, by my calculations that is approximately $13 per title. That is cheaper than a night at Big Wang’s House of Earthly Delights.
I know what you’re thinking, and you’re wrong. Wang’s is not a house of ill repute. Rather, it is a delicatessen that just so happens to employ prostitutes who aim to please. There is a difference.
If you ever go, I highly recommend the footlong. It is thick, meaty and full of sexual innuendo.
Since Dead Rising was never released for Sony’s sleek black box, this package will only be available to 360 owners. A bummer for PS3 gamers, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Let’s just hope this isn’t the only current generation collection we get from Capcom.
I have never played the full retail versions of any of the aforementioned titles, but did sample the Devil May Cry 4 demo. To be frank, it didn’t do much for me. I never really seemed to do much aside from open doors and dispatch enemies. Oh, and there was some running as well.
The playable preview was only a small slice of the pie, so it would be rather unfair – and ignorant – to label the entire game a mindless affair. In general though, the IP has never really appealed to me. It’s kind of hard to explain, having barely dipped my toes in the pool, but I suspect that it has something to do with my perception that the franchise has an unpleasantly high difficulty curve. I like a challenge, but am not a glutton for punishment. Sanity is a precious, precious commodity, and I intend to keep mine intact.
Who knows though. I dismissed Resident Evil 4 without ever giving it a chance, only to have an absolute blast with number five. I guess you never really know until you try something.

I’ll be buying this me thinks. that’s a REALLy good deal for 3 respectable games. I wonder if we’ll see more bundles like that soon.
Dose anybody know if this will be comeing out on anything but the xbox 360 or if it will be comeing out in Australia?
