I don’t care much about sports.
I don’t care much about mixed martial arts (MMA).
What I DO care about is sweet, sweet justice, and this story which I caught wind of is just that.

Here’s the scenario:

1)      In 2006, Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) president Dana White apparently had the idea of publishing/developing a UFC title with EA Sports, developers of some of the most successful sports franchises in history.
2)      EA Sports President Peter Moore told him that he could go truck off and that “MMA is not a real sport”.
3)      THQ gets the rights for the game and sells a record destroying two million copies of UFC 2009 Undisputed in less than two months.
4)      EA Sports President Moore looks like a giant bag of douche.
5)      Bag of Douche Moore decides EA is going to release their own MMA title, EA Sports MMA to compete with THQ’s next UFC title in 2010.
6)      Now the tables have turned, UFC President White kicks sand in Bag of Douche Moore’s face by forbidding any UFC fighter from taking any part in EA’s game or they will have their contracts revoked.

Now EA won’t have big names to promote their series.  Would EA’s Tiger Woods  or Madden series have been nearly as large  without their flagship name brand? Tell us what you think, in the comments.
