Now you can have a beautiful woman blow the smoke away from the end of your gun on the go! Talk about convenience!
Saints Row 2 is probably one of my favorite open-world games to date. Don’t get me wrong, I loved GTA4, and it is hard to deny that Saints Row is not really just GTA with an overdose of gang colors (joker purple just happens to be my favorite), urban stereotypes and turf wars; but I played Saints Row 2 much, much longer than GTA4, which is telling. What can I say? I am a sucker for Tera Patrick (more content next time please!) and over-the-top gangster shenanigans.
In a blog post a little over a week ago the metal band Opeth let slip they were going to be featured in an upcoming game.
“We may not like playing video games all that much but we do like it when our music is featured on them! Makes us a bit proud even when it’s a game as big as Saints Row for the PSP and even prouder when the nice developer people show excellent taste by picking “The Lotus Eater” for it. So if you love playing video games: the game is expected to hit the streets around March 2010.”
Even though it seems weird to feature a metal Band like Opeth in a game I feel is more suited to hip-hop and urban music, I am pleased. I love my hip-hop, but I can see myself tearing apart the city with some sweet Death Metal as my soundtrack too.
Officially, Saints Row coming to the PSP is still technically a rumor, but it seems pretty damn likely. First of all, why would Opeth, who admitted they are not even gamers, say Saints Row is coming to PSP if it was not true? Second of all, with Saints Row 3 already confirmed, it makes a lot of sense to release a small title on the PSP to keep the name on peoples lips until SR3 comes out.
Last of all, with the success of the GTA games on the PSP, why not release a portable version of Saints Row? I’d buy it in a heart beat. Would you?
