Battlefield Is Devouring My Life, And Excreting Wonderful Feelings Of Fulfilment

BFLove

It’s been a long while since an online shooter has gotten me hooked, but Battlefield 1943 has done the job. I can’t praise this little treasure in gaming enough! I mean sure, it has its drawbacks, but that’ll happen when EA are only asking for 1200 MS Points. For every person that’s complained there aren’t enough maps or classes, you should just go and play Bad Company again…

On a vaguely related subject, I played Bad Company again this morning upon getting home from an uninspiring night of work. No more than ten seconds into the game I scored my first headshot. Nice! Is there a better way to start a match? I don’t think so, not unless you score two headshots in ten seconds (but then that’s just bragging, and I should stick my tongue out at you thusly; *stick tongue out*).

Within the space of two matches on this game it had me hooked again. The downside? I’ve already unlocked everything. The upside? Well, firstly it gave me a new gun upon logging in. Not that I’ve used it yet, I mean why the heck-deck-a-roony would I use anything other than the Uzi? That gun is too unfair not to use! Secondly, I figured I hadn’t levelled beyond 3rd rank on the PS3 version. Neither has a friend of mine. So collectively we decided, “to hell with it. I’ll buy the PS3 version and play the crap out of that one to level up to General again.”

Insane in the membrane? Perhaps. But I know I’ll enjoy playing through this awesome experience again. Single player campaign aside, Bad Company boasts one hell of a diverse and intriguing (and addictive), multiplayer game. I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of Gold Rush mode. And just in case I do, there’s always the usual Battlefield mode to play.

So yeah, Battlefield: Bad Company for the win, as it were. That said, this is a good moment to advertise the first of what I’m sure will be many gamer nights involving Battlefield 1943. Illustrious community member, Shane86, is taking charge in organising a meet-up for this Sunday night (19th July), on Xbox Live. The time will be 6pm Eastern / 11pm BST. For more details and to sign up for said event, HERE is the forum thread. Oh, and I will be testing my new video capture hardware to make a video involving this gamer night, so that’ll be fun… I promise ;)

I’ll catch y’all later, alligators. I have some Battlefield to play!

Me too! It’s school holidays, and i just finished red faction, got burnt out on far cry 2, and was considering getting some sunlight, when my friend made me join his squad, and now i’ve been solidly playing for 2 days straight. Quick question: Is your personal k/d ratio and/or score higher while Attacking or Defending?

BTW the M60 or the MG36 are the best guns, it feels so good to get pissed and just hold the trigger for a solid 20 seconds, even though it destroys your accuracy.

Yup, I got hooked on BF too. I got Bad Company for my birthday and didnt play it too much. But after months and months of playing COD4 and LBP I decided to play it. Lets just say that I hope Infinity Ward doesnt find out im cheating on her. My favorite BC weapons are the P2000, the USAS, the M249, and I can scarcely go through a battle without using the XM8. But I have one question. Will there be BF 1943 gamer nights ON the PS3? I dont know why but Ive just not been keeping up with the gamer nights. Ive yet to play my first one.
