Sarcastic Gamer community raises $950 for young hero

Last week we made our readers aware of a young hero named Amber, who’s courage in the face of Cystic Fibrosis is truly inspiring.  During my brief visit with Amber she mentioned how much she’d love to have a green wristband for the non-profit that she and her family started, Ambers-Angels.org.

With just two blog posts and a ton of retweets from our friends on Twitter, you’ve raised exactly $950 for Amber, meaning she’s getting more than a thousand green Ambers-Angels.org wristbands and a sweet check to help support her efforts to bring happiness to hospitalized children during the holidays.

While we enjoy covering video games and being general goofballs around here, it’s stuff like this that truly fulfill the team at Sarcastic Gamer, and we want to thank each and every one of you who donated or helped to spread the word on Amber’s behalf.

I spoke with Amber’s mom who was overwhelmed by this gesture.  Amber will be kept in the dark until the wristbands are delivered in a couple of weeks.  Oh, and those of you who donated?  You’re getting one of the wristbands you pitched in towards, autographed by our young hero herself.

Thank you, again and again SGC.

NOTE:  For those that would still like to donate, the link will remain active for several more days.  You too will get that autographed bracelet and your money will be added to the check for Ambers-Angels.org

This is awesome news, Doc. What a great reflection on the community you’ve created here. I’ll be rocking my green bracelet at PAX this year.

Your going to make that poor girl sign hundreds of wristbands? You people are animals! (sarcasm intended) On a more serious note, that is awesome news!

I’m glad to have been a part of this. That’s the true meaning of what the SGC is all about. A group of fantastic people, who care about their fellow human beings, and also like to play video games. Keep up the great work SGC, and I’m looking forward to extralife
