Rumors of a new Forza game have been floating around the Internet for quite a long time. Back in January, the game was mentioned on Forza Central. Then there was the leaked video from a Microsoft Brazil meeting, followed by a strategy guide listing on Amazon.de. To top it all off, earlier today, the folks at Destructoid found an achievements page for Forza 3 on Xbox.com. Well, let the speculation end. Microsoft officially revealed the game during its pre-E3 press conference, referring to it as the “definitive racing game of this generation.”
The game will feature 400 cars from 50 manufacturers, gameplay rewind, and a video editor that will allow users to create high-defintion videos. Those videos can then be shared via Xbox Live. Forza Motorsport 3 is being developed by Turn 10 Studios, the same team that developed Forza 2. It will ship this October, exclusively for the Xbox 360.
While I am not sure if this should be considered a blockbuster title, the Forza games have always received superb marks from critics. According to Dan Greenwald, Forza 2 is the highest-rated racing game of this console generation. It currently holds an aggregate Metacritic score of 90.
