Microsoft somehow pulled strings to get the venerable Cliffy B to come do an announcement for a new game coming to XBLA. Oh, and there was some other guy from some development team with a broken microphone, probably Cliffy B’s doing since as soon as a stage hand handed the other developer a mic, Cliffy B promptly took it away.

Shadow Complex looks to be a Bionic Commando-styled game with great visuals and Metroid-like gameplay. It seems like a pretty decent title from the limited gameplay we were shown, but nothing spectacularly new here. You run and shoot, with an emphasis on using the environment to take out your enemies (example gameplay showed the character shooting some powerlines and electrocuting two guards).

Other weapons include a foam gun and—are you ready?—a hookshot.
