It’s been running around in the rumour mill for as long as this generation of consoles has been around. Would Hideo Kojima ever bring Metal Gear to the Xbox 360 as well as the Playstation 3? Well now he has personally been on stage at the Microsoft Press Conference to officially announce the next game in the franchise, and the FIRST to ever be released on an Xbox platform, Metal Gear Rising.
Metal Gear Rising will see Raiden return as the games playable hero, seemingly still packing his awesome suit from MGS4.
Kojima has explicitly stated that this game is NOT about Solid Snake, but you never know, maybe he’ll make a cameo. We can only hope.
Knowing how Kojima enjoys his hour-long cutscenes I can see this game spanning multiple discs on the 360 but that’s really the only downside here to this long-awaited, and exciting announcement.
I guess we finally found out what Kojima’s countdown has been taunting us all about. Frankly, I’m pleased with the result. What do you all think?

Metal gear? ON THE 360?! There’s a reason why games like halo don’t appear on the PS3 and vice versa!
I wasn’t really a fan of playing Raiden in MGS2. I do like the character though, so we’ll see what develops.

wow sacasim on sacastic gamer! Of course it is but your not suppose to place exclusive games on another console, seriously microsoft are really getting on my nerves sometimes i feel like their trying to coerce me into buying a 360 by simply making sure that i can’t get excess to stuff via the PS3, why must they feel like they sound take control and dominate all the time?
SG even showed as the kind of utopia microsoft thinks they’ll make for us no doubt in which they rule over everyone with an iron fist.
I guess Kojima finally got tired of the constant rumors of MGS4 coming to 360, so he just decided to make an entire game just to get some peace lol.
but seriously, is this going to be 360 exclusive? because my 360 is RROD and out of warranty, so my ps3 is my only option
proberly seeing as he went to the microsoft press conferance to tell people he was a traitor to sony which adds him the list already containing eidos, bethesda, activision, rockstar…..which means the PS3 is just DEAD. Wonderfull since microsoft has been in the games industry it’s made the PS3 and 360 redundent by flashing cash around.
