It's very nice!
The official Bioshock 2 release dates have been announced! Finally, the European Union is getting thrown a bone worth mentioning, albeit a small one.
Find out when after the jump!
While in the US, Bioshock 2 is scheduled for release on November 3rd, Europeans will be getting an early release date for the game.
Okay, calm down, the Brits aren’t going to see it months earlier or anything. This gives the EU folks less than a week head start; the EU launch date is on October 30th. Just make sure you turn off your internet connection and force yourself not to watch Youtube spoiler videos of the guy over in Wales who has already beaten the game twice and has video taped both the good and bad endings before you’ve even taken the cellophane off of the box.
Now as for which systems it’s coming out for and when, that’s a little different story. From the Kotaku report:
The game, which is expected to ship on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, is still officially listed in the company’s press release for second quarter earnings as coming to platforms “TBA.”. Asked if the “TBA” is a sign that the game could become a timed exclusive, Take Two CFO Lanie Goldstein said, “In terms of BioShock, we’re still working out what the right SKUs [versions] are and the right timing.” Company chairman Strauss Zelnick quickly added: “No you shouldn’t read anything into that.”
So no need to panic yet, single system owners…but if you own a Wii, you’re still screwed.
For those of you who have never played the original Bioshock, well, what in the hell are you doing reading? Get your cherry ass down to your local game store and get a copy!
I’ll wait.
If you’re still reading and haven’t played the original, spoiler alert!
I’m sure if you’ve played the first one, you’ve got a pretty good idea of what’s coming for number two. You are back in the underwater city of Rapture playing as the original Big Daddy. The timeline puts you in after the utopian city has been devastated by internal civil war and technical issues, but before your time as the mysterious savior/villain that crash landed from the original title.
If you haven’t seen it, here’s several minutes of gameplay of Bioshock 2, with one of the original level designers doing commentary. Bon apetit!

This barely ever happens, and it’s usually for games I don’t play.
Picture me excited, also picture me riding a bmx, topless. What do you mean you don’t draw caricatures?

I think you may have a bit of a typo. You said that bioshock 2 was set before the first game but OXM said *Possible Spoiler* that the big sister was one of the original little sisters that had grown up and returned.
The captioned Borat photo made me click this post.
Good for the EU guys. But here in Pakistan, we’ll get it day zero anyway. HA!
@awais imran
yeah and you make us look like the bad guys! ^_^ (which i think we and america are for going into what was the dumbest war in history) seriously in the future it’ll be the brave people of pakistan and iran standing up to the evil might of america with their “you know down two of our area, we’ll wipe out your entire country” not that i don’t think 9/11 or pearl habour wasen’t tragic just that…the aftermathe was a but of an OVERREACTION
how did we get into politics? WE SHALL NEVER KNOW! ^_^ Anywho. I’m just glad that europe gets something before america. Always good to have it your way every now and then.
