SG-PSP Episode 54: What is Love?

May 22nd, 2009 at 1:27 am · 4 Comments

In our 54th episode we switch things up to take advantage of the pre-E3 news drought and decide to answer listener questions.  Thank God for Twitter or we wouldn’t have even had THOSE to talk about!  We also dug up some more ROOMAHS and and a few other things as well.

We appreciate you guys taking time out of your day every week to list to our show. For your convenience, you can simply download the MP3 by clicking HERE (and incrementing the episode number by 1 to time-travel to next week) or if you’re one of those “set it and forget it” types, you can subscribe via iTunes, RSS, or Zune and stay in “real time.”

If you do use iTunes, we’d love to hear what you think about our show. A great way to show your support is by leaving us feedback on iTunes. Remember, you can also email us at any time by sending your text or audio comments to PlaystationPodcast@SarcasticGamer.com!

PacMan asked for audio submissions from you guys… do me a favor; bury him in funny (but appropriate) audio submissions. Be creative, we love to hear from you guys.

      Thanks for the shoutout Rothbart!

The idea of a slim PS3 right now just doesn’t make sense to me. The regular PS3s aren’t selling as well as Sony would hope anyway, so why put more money into R&D to slenderize it? The heat coming off the dozen-core CPU (okay, I exaggerate but you know what I mean) is already pretty high. Confine that down and you’re going to start melting stuff.

If anything, Xbox is going to have to announce that they’re upgrading physics/video cards and CPU to catch up to ths PS3.

    • @OMG: I think the intent of a slim PS3 would be entirely cost reduction (both in manufacturing costs and retail cost to the customer.)

Rumor has it they lose $40/unit now at the $399 price. If they hope to drop $100 anytime soon, it’d likely be related to some major cost reduction as well. That said, I don’t think it’ll happen at E3 (or even be announced then.)
