Peek into the future: Walmart unveils cover athlete of Madden 2040!

sg-madden-2040Hello Sarcastic Gamers of 2040!  This is Double D here, your favorite 58 year old staff member (Yes, I am the ONLY staff member ever since the rest of the staff was poisoned at E3 in 2009…remember, I was ACQUITTED).  Hit the jump for the great news!

I have great news for everyone! Walmart (Who you remember acquired EA, Square Enix, the Vatican, and the moon in 2016) has just revealed their cover athlete for the 2040 edition of Madden.

So who’s the lucky guy? Well…maybe unlucky.  As you know the last 10 athletes on the cover of the Madden series have all been touched with the Madden curse.  And by touched, I mean they’ve all died in horrific car accidents…(again, I WAS ACQUITTED!)

Anywho, this years cover athlete is Brett Favre!  I contacted Brett who was very excited about the opportunity.

“I can’t imagine a better way to end my 50 some odd playing career than by being on the cover of Madden for a 7th time.  The other 6 times I was a young 40, 50 and 60 year old who swore that it was my final comeback.  Well, this year is it…It kind of has to be…My titanium shoulders I had put in after the 2010 season have rusted over and I don’t have much movement in my arms.”

So there you have it everyone.  Brett Favre will be on the cover of Madden yet again!

See you Monday on episode 1489 of SG Pink Radio when my sweetheart Lesley and I will bring you the latest on the development of the PS4 (Still can’t believe the lifespan of the PS3! WOW!).  We’ll also be remembering the 30th anniversary of the death of Jax…Who knew that so little wine could cause so much pain.
