E3 2009: A Pile O’ Predictions

I’m thinking BioShock 2 will be a core part of Microsoft’s press conference this year. And more to the point, I’m thinking they’ll have a playable segment of the campaign. In fact, I’ll even go so far as to say there will be playable multiplayer matches as well. Stranger things have happened, right? Under the same premise, I think Splinter Cell: Conviction will FINALLY have a preview build to show to everybody.

My last prediction is based on one of my truest loves in gaming, Deus Ex. I NEED Eidos to show a teaser for Deus Ex 3. Just give me SOMETHING! Something more than that stupid video of a foetus released last year!

I need screenshots, preferably some gameplay footage and most importantly of all, a rough release date. Then my dreams of gaming’s future will be fulfilled!

So that’s it. Just a handful of my predictions for this year’s E3 event. Do you dispute anything I’ve suggested? Anything Rothbart suggested? Do you have any predictions of your own? Let us know in the comments!

    Don’t forget Mass Effect 2! I can’t wait to see whatever they reveal from that game. But yeah, Mass Effect 2, COD: MW2, Bioshock 2, and maybe some Assassin’s Creed 2; it should be a pretty sweet show. God I’ve just realised it’s the year of the sequels isn’t it.

    We’ll be getting some details on the highly likely Gold/Silver Pokemon remakes, rumoured to be announced this Sunday, I should think.

    Golden Sun 3? We can only pray… And be sorely disappointed yet again ;_;

    Isn’t every year “the year of the sequels” at some degree anyway?

    The optimist (other word for Fboy) in me says that Sony really have something special, some really good announcements they have been saving up for the perfect time.
    Now it seems like the best time to blast everyone, with already announced titles like RnC, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, GoW3 ++.
    Microsoft have Halo without Master Chief and Mass Effect, Nintendo have nothing (if they announce Mario/Zelda (Winter Olympics), it will still be some time off).
    If Sony hit a home run NOW, they can really push the console, which seems logical to me, hit the huge announcements while everyone got “nothing” hyped.
    But I am sure Sony manage to fuck up somehow, but prove me wrong!
    It will be interesting to see!
    (Damn it, I want a real sequel to Jak and Daxter, no PSP version..)

    20 bucks says Infinity Ward will do what they did at the prior E3 with CoD4. They will show a bit of single-player gameplay and announce a multiplayer beta.

    Personally, I’m looking forward to actual gameplay vids of Brutal Legend and Bayonetta. Gimme that and I’ll be content
