It is not Fiction Friday. The title for the next downloadable side-story in GTA4 is called The Ballad of Gay Tony.

The game is going to feature largely the character of Tony Prince, however the protagonist will be Luis Lopez, described as a “part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince”.

Alongside being released over Xbox LIVE for 1600 points, it can be purchased on a disk that also includes Lost and Damned, but surprisingly not the original retail game.

After the jump, we’ve got some casual speculation for you!

What does the title say about the contents of the game? It says that this is Rockstar being Rockstar.

Give the same tagline to any other game and you’d best not expect your sales graphs to have an upward trend. This is a company that, a matter of months ago, released a game with full frontal male nudity which went on to break first day download records.

On a console that when describing its users, the word homophobic cock-end comes up 100 times out of 100.

It’s a title that displays a definite level of confidence, Rockstar knows that this is going to sell like hotcakes powdered with true love containing an anti-aging formula.

Assuming this is everything I want from the GTA Formula, they can continue to swagger around like a lotharian conquistador, they’ve earned the right.

So, let’s see, you mean to tell me that the retail box will say “The Ballad of Gay Tony” in all its rainbow glory? I think alot of the younger (over 18) crowd might find some difficulty and actually carrying that to a register to buy. It’s like going to a head shop and buying a gay porn, it ain’t gonna happen. Not that there is anyhting wrong with that.

What is that in the sky? Is it a bird? A plane? No, it’s an angry swarm of right wingers coming in to talk about how Rockstar is trying to turn kids gay!

That is freakin’ hysterical. Go Rockstar.

Even though I’m not a fan of Rockstar Games, I love the fact that are breaking all the barriers. Alas, finally a game where calling it gay would be less of an insult, and more of an accurate description. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

COME ON! HOW IS THIS EVEN FAIR! GTA IV is a multiplatfrom game the least they can do is put this on the PS3! Why does microsoft always convince companies to release 360 exclusive content for a game that’s also on the PS3, it’s bad enough we PS3 owners don’t get the lost and the damned!

    Timewarp:

That is not how it went down.

Microsoft did not say “here is some money, don’t make this for anyone else”

they said “here is some money, use it to make something for us”.

    There’s a huge difference.

@Timewarp Well, 360 owners can’t play any of the Pixel Junk games, so I guess we’re even (not really).

I love that, with this title choice, Rockstar is practically BEGGING the right-wingers to get up in arms over this one. They know that when it comes to video games (especially their own) there’s no such thing as bad publicity.
