Ever since Billy Mitchell broke onto scene in 1982 by setting the high score of Donkey Kong, he has been one of the worlds most famous video game players.  He has starred in two video game documentaries and has set the high score on multiple arcade video games.

His latest record, however, has been his most impressive to date.  Hit the jump for details!

Yesterday, Billy had a live chat Q&A on his website and dozen of fans showed up to ask him about his new record.  I attended the Q&A and here is the transcript.

BmITCHell: Thank you all for logging on today!  12 users all at the same time!  Yet        another record for me!  Who has a question for me?

LeeroyJenk: Billy!  Big fan!  So why did it take you so long to break this record?

BmITCHell:  You know, I’ve been trying to break this one ever since I joined the Video Game circuit in 1981.  I knew it would be harder than any other record I could possibly try to break.  That’s why this is such a big deal for me…and you’re all here to celebrate with me!

Mario<3Peach: How many attempts did it take Mr. Mitchell?

BmITCHell: You know….I’ve lost count over the years.  I mostly attempted to break this record on the weekends after I got off work.  So I’d imagine I logged over 2500 attempts.

T-bagParty: Did you ever get discouraged?

BmITCHell:  I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t discouraged at times.  It was a lonely road to walk for these 20 years without getting it done.  But come on guys…I’m Billy fu%$&! Mitchell!

I1t2bBilly: I knew you’d do it Billy! WOO!

DoubleD: I personally don’t see the big deal.

BmITCHell:  Welcome to the site newcomer….I don’t think you understand what I was able to accomplish.

I1t2bBilly: You tell em Billy!

DoubleD: I mean, I got this done when I was 14 man.  And probably 40-45 times since then.

MamasBoy: Come on…stop lying!  Let Billy get back to the questions!

BmITCHell:   Thanks Mama…And I think that’s a good idea.  Next question?

AllurBase: So how did you finally do it?

BmITCHell: Well, I first saw her when she walked into the Best Buy where I was working.  I helped her find the perfect stereo for her car and I just went for it.

TheCakeIsALie: And what did she say?

BmITCHell: To my surprise she smiled and said yes!

AllurBase: W00t!

So there you have it.  Billy Mitchell becomes the first professional gamer to successfully secure a first date.  Bravo Billy!

Sadly, it turns out that the girl said yes due to a rare disease that makes her attracted to biblical era hairstyles and facial hair.  Still…quite the accomplishment!
