19:59 me: Hey!
20:00 Yamster: Yes? I busy writing a…OMG! The bus is here! Bus bus bus!
me: Yes, yes
I’ve had an idea for a Fiction Friday article, just wanted to run it by you
Yamster: *sigh* I suppose I could spare some of my time…
20:01 me: Great!
Yamster: get on with it
me: Well, how about Sony filing a patent for a remote controlled car?
Yamster: you’re an idiot

me: …that you control with you PSP!
Yamster: this could work
20:02 me: Yeah, the car has a camera on the top and you control it from the PSP. The camera feed is displayed on the PSP so you can see where you’re going
20:03 Yamster: I read The Times
me: I know
anyway
You can record the car’s camera feed and upload it
20:04 I was thinking of a funny quote I could put in, from sony. something like: “a user may control the car 200 so as to spy on their friends… then upload the stored video images to a website.”
Yamster: haha!
20:05 no one would ever believe that was a real quote from a sony filed patent though, would they?
me: it is a little far fetched
20:06 anyway. the car also has a speaker on it, so that car noises can be played!
VROOOM!
Yamster: no. this is stupid
me: you always crush my dreams!
Yamster: fine, continue
20:07 me: You can play a racing game in “augmented reality zones”
Yamster: what are they?
me: basically the game recognises real life objects as in game objects and can swap them out for something fun. Like a giraffe
20:08 Yamster: riiiight
me: so you could lay down a track made out of blocks of wood. the camera would recognise them, and then they’d be put into the game on the PSP screen
20:09 Yamster: i still dont think people would believe this. I mean, it’s not like the patent is real and can be viewed at http://www.siliconera.com/2009/04/09/sonys-psp-controlled-remote-car/ or anything
me: that’s true
Yamster: i just think it’s too ridiculous to pass of as a Fiction Friday article
me: yeah, you’re probably right
Yamster: I. AM. ALWAYS. RIGHT
20:10 me: calm down Yammy
Yamster: fine
incidentally, yesterday it was slightly overcast, so I decided to rearrange my mothball collection
