Konami has stunned the gaming world by buckling under the pressure of the critics that said it was “too soon” for a game to be based on the battle of Fallujah.  Instead the game title has been changed to “Six Days in Phallujah”.

Read on to find out why!

When asked about the name change, lead developer Ahmed Van Winkle stated, “We understand the sensitivity of the battle of Fallujah and we have decided to make the game take place in the fictional Middle Eastern city of Phallujah instead.”  Van Winkle then used his right index finger to air write a “P” and an “H”.

Apparently Konami was considering other options for the game.  ”Six Days in a Somali Tugboat” was thrown out the window for being “too soon” as well.  Other titles that were scrapped included: “Seven Minutes in Heaven (Three and a Half If You’re Lucky)”, “Three Days in Gettysburg”, “One (D-)Day in Normandy”, and “Six Seconds in Hiroshima”.  Ultimately, it was decided Phallujah was the least offensive of all of these options.

“I think we’ve been super-sensitive here,” said Van Winkle with a smile.
