Sunday the new Nintendo DSi went on sale for $170.  Over 100 million DS and DS Lites have already been sold.  Is the Dsi going to be as successful?  The DSi offers a few improved and new features.  It has slightly bigger screens, two cameras (why do you need 2?), the ability to download games from an online store and the ability to edit and play around with your photos and music.  You can also record your own sound clips and edit those.

At first I was not convinced that the DSi was going to have a big draw.  After learning more, I can definitely see a market for this.  Kids will have a blast manipulating photos and sound clips.  You can add drawings and text to photos, stretch them, change the color and have lots more fun!  Another great thing will be downloading games from the DSi Shop.  There are numerous cheap and free games available.

I think the DSi will do well.  I can see children around the world begging for an increase in their allowance so they can get one.  What do you think?

I know it will do well… especially if people think about it, realize games will both come out with features ONLY available on DSi AND later games will come out incompatible with the original DS (both confirmed in the plans) and that at least for the moment, Gamestop is making it worthwhile to make the upgrade.

      It’s what I did.

it has two cameras because one is to take pictures of other people, and the other is to take pictures of yourself without having to turn the DSi around.

They should have just put the new features into a more powerful DS2.

I think it will be a success. Personally, I wanted to get a DS but never really felt too motivated. The DSi, once it gets cheaper, will surely be a part of my consoles!
