Earlier today Kotaku.com leaked information about Sony’s previously teased “electrifying announcement” regarding inFAMOUS and Uncharted 2.  The news was that when you reserved inFAMOUS that in addition to a demo code for inFAMOUS, you also got a voucher to the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Multiplayer Beta.  Hold up, Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Beta?  Yeah, and the surprises don’t end there!

Keep reading for the surprising details we’ve managed to track down…

It turns out that Naughty Dog isn’t interested in a traditional multiplayer mode for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and are breaking the multiplayer up into several distinct and rather unconventional “events” for lack of a better word.  Sources indicate we should expect to see Uncharted Nitro Kart, a kart racing game similar to Naughty Dog’s own Crash Team Racing (and the later, non-Naughty Dog reimagining Crash Nitro Kart) but within the Uncharted universe.

It sounds like there will also be a linear 2.5D competitive platforming element tentatively titled Uncharted: Warped.  We’ve also heard mention of a car combat game affectionately referred to as Drake X: Combat Racing and lastly, as weird as it sounds… in a Who Framed Roger Rabbit-esque twist that see toons running loose in a realistic world, we’re told there will a competitive online multiplayer free roaming action game component referred to only as Drake and Daxter.

We promise to provide more details of these unconventional multiplayer modes as information becomes available.  Personally, I can’t wait!
