Ok, I guess I should have mentioned that these women gamers are playing things like solitaire. The study shows that 65% of women in the 25-34 age range play video games, while only 35% of men in that age group report playing video games. However, women were found to be less likely to play games on consoles. They tend to play “simple” games. The article used the word “simple” to describe women gamers choices several times. Sexist pigs.
Apparently women are choosing these “simple” games because they are nonviolent and not competitive. The console powers that be are getting smart and tapping into this huge demographic. Xbox Live Arcade has numerous games that appeal to simple, casual gamers like myself.

This is completely true. My wife is a HUGE gamer. I’d call her a hardcore gamer, even though the games she plays are casual. She easily triples the time I spend playing games on my 360.
