Infinity Ward is scrambling this morning, in an effort to cover an apparent leak regarding the next installment in the Call of Duty series. In an email that was leaked to Sarcastic Gamer, late last night, our anonymous source says the developer is already well into the development cycle for Call of Duty 5: More Modern Combat and Call of Duty 6: Even MORE Modern Combat.
We had such huge success with the COD 1, 2, and 3, which were set in WW2, that we’re going to stick to that formula for COD 4, 5, and 6. Essentially all we have to do is make a few maps, add a weapon or two, and call it a sequel!
The memo went on to say that the decision wasn’t based solely on the success of the first three games in the series.
We feel left out. I mean EA is buying up every studio in sight, but they haven’t even called us. By adopting this new development strategy, we think we’re bringing Infinity Ward more in line with EA’s business model… So maybe now they’ll give us the time of day.

call of duty 4 was realy short in career mode but on xbox live it is soo much fun and it lasts for ages after 3-4 months of playin atleast an hour or 2 a day im half way through the 4th prestige mode and theres 10 of them and aparently theyre going to put on more prestige modes and more maps

About this, cod5 is actually WWII not modern warfare. This is because it is made by Treyarch who made cod3. Cod6 however is set for release late 2009 or early to mid 2010 and is also set for release on the xbox 720 console which will be released about the same time. Cod6 has many stories to it and one of which by the developers of infinity ward says that it will “mayby” take off from cod4 but may also include “future” warfare as battlefireld took on for BF 2142.

and as for what hoe said. Yes there are new maps for cod4 (killhouse, chinatown, creek & broadcast) and yes there will be more prestiges (its harder to find prestiges than u think, every prestige is the same icon in life) as also for new guns and perks will be released soon and also a new item on a 10 kill streak “a war jet or tank”??

there are many questions I want to ask but i will stick to minimum is there going to be another kill streak aftyer ten?. and to be quite frank just adding a few maps and wepeons is a bit cheesy. And on multiplayer are there going to be more maps on that aswell. and singleplayer is there a plot with like marines and S.A.S or is it delta force and british troops?. Is there a main plot like getting zakeheav and al asad or is it just do levels?

call of duty 4 was made by infinity ward but call of duty 5 is set back in ww2 so its not going to be infinty ward but on 6 they are going to bring a newer version of modern warfare and dont you think that they are going to lose so much money because they set it back in the day…modern warfare is the best in the series and always will be until they bring another one out like that …god they are so dumb
