April Fools’: a time where gentle folk can have fun spreading false facts in an attempt to deceive the gullible. Unfortunately, those who fall for these acts of trickery do not have as much fun, so Sarcastic Gamer will be dispelling any game related April Fools’ throughout the day, as a favour to you, our readers. Colon dee.

Back at GDC, Hideo Kojima’s presentation ended on a rather mysterious note: a picture proclaiming ‘MISSION: The NEXT MGS’ was displayed, with a suspicious looking Raiden-esque figure in the top right. However, a video posted on Konami’s website this morning portrayed none other than Colonel Cambell as Metal Gear’s next protagonist. Needless to say, it’s an April Fools’ joke (though I’d imagine some would have guessed that given the video’s URL – http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/movie/april_fool/index_j.html).

Nevertheless, we’ve kindly embedded the video after the jump, where we can all watch it and wish it was true.
