April Fools’: a time where gentle folk can have fun spreading false facts in an attempt to deceive the gullible. Unfortunately, those who fall for these acts of trickery do not have as much fun, so Sarcastic Gamer will be dispelling any game related April Fools’ throughout the day, as a favour to you, our readers. Colon dee.
A particularly malicious April Fool now, with Akiba Blog posting that the much anticipated Dragon Quest IX was on sale, following a broken street date. The Dragon Quest series might not that popular over here, but in Japan it’s the real deal, so you can imagine how annoyed some people must have been, especially considering the game’s recent delay until July 11.
The blog posted pictures from other launch events, and passed them off as over 2,000 people queueing up for the game’s launch. All we can say is, if you live in Akihabara and were just on your way to pick up a copy of Dragon Quest IX, you might as well return home and wait solemnly until July 11. Sorry.
