Sigourney Weaver was who they called when they were looking for a female star for the upcoming Ghostbusters game, scheduled to release on June 16th. Weaver played Dana Barrett in the movies Ghostbusters 1 & 2. She declined the role however, fearing that the game wouldn’t be of “high quality”. Maybe she’s secretly a closet gamer? When she realized that this Ghostbusters game wouldn’t be like the other pieces of crap they have produced in the past, it was too late. A contract had already been signed, making a certain “Charmed” individual the star of this game. Follow the jump to see who the leading lady will be.

I’d like to say that I’m not old enough to remember when the first Ghostbusters movie came out in 1984. Sadly enough, I am that old and so is Alyssa Milano. Milano, now 36 years old joins the game as Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn, a smart and sexy guest curator at a “World Gozer” exhibit at the Natural History Museum. We could go on and on about her role and the story line, but that is not where the real story is. Instead, let’s dwell on how creepy it is that she gets to play the love interest of a man old enough to be her father.

Bill Murray (Dr. Peter Venkman) was a hot guy when the first Ghostbusters movie came out. Alyssa Milano was about 12 years old then. We’re talking an age difference of almost 23 years. Apparently in the game there is a lot of “flirty flirty sexual tension” between Venkman and Selwyn. Can anyone say ew? I just did. Even Alyssa Milano did, saying in an intereview “It’s a little weird being the love interest of Peter Venkman.”

With pick up lines like “What can I say, I get up for girls that get up”, and “May I say, your eyes are much prettier when they aren’t glowing like hot coals” it sounds like 25 years haven’t affected Venkman’s game.

Sigourney Weaver must be rolling over in her grave. I know she’s not dead, but you know she’s at least got to be a little upset that she’s been replaced by someone nearly half her age. Luckily age differences don’t really affect a game in my opinion. This still looks like it’s going to be a great game.
