I ceased actively collecting action figures many years ago. It is a surprisingly expensive hobby that doesn’t really provide any benefits. That is, unless you enjoy staring at packaged pieces of plastic. Personally, I got sick of my “Star Wars: Episode I” toys a long time ago. Plus, most chicks don’t dig action figures. According to a survey that exists only in my head, 95 percent of women believe that adult toy collectors are closet pedophiles. Apparently, child predators are looked down upon.

However, occasionally, a company produces a set of figures that not even a macho beefcake such as myself can resist.

Joystiq editor Randy Nelson recently spotted this picture of DC Direct’s upcoming “Ratchet & Clank” line of figures on Newsarama. Ratchet will come packed with his pint-sized pal, Clank, while Dr. Nefarious and Captain Qwark will be accompanied by a Zoni and Scrunch, respectively.

I am not really sure when DC plans to release these beauties, or how much they will cost, but I definitely plan to pick them up as soon as possible. Honestly, I would club a baby seal with another baby seal if it meant that I could get these plastic masterpieces delivered to my house tomorrow.  My Kratos figure needs some company and I am tired of waiting for NECA’s Isaac Clarke figure to hit retailers.

So yea, I am a huge dork who won’t be getting a date for a few years. That is OK though. Girls have cooties. Well, every woman except Mila Kunis. She makes me feel funny.
