Hey, hey, hey, hey! In my life, there is no greater multiplayer fun to be had after a hard day’s night, than a jubilant game of Rock Band. Everyone can just come together, relax and act naturally. Sure, you have to carry a dazzling array of heavy plastic peripherals (you have to remember every little thing), but I always have a smile on my face when I carry that weight, because I know rock-related fun is just around the corner. I’m also a big fan of The Beatles, so imagine my surprise, when I get home and see that a Beatles Rock Band game has been confirmed, with a release date! It could have been released, any time at all, but 09/09/09 was chosen.
All the details, after the jump.
The Beatles: Rock Band is coming to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii in a simultaneous world-wide launch and will feature the classic voice, drums and guitar gameplay that fans of the series know and love (sometimes it’s best to just let it be). For $250, players can nab themselves the Limited Edition Premium bundle, and I’ve got a feeling that this will be pretty popular, due in part to the peripherals, which are “modeled after instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr throughout their career.” For those who just fancy a strumming device (because they don’t want to go in for all that drummy stuff), the guitar will be available for $100. As for the…oh, what’s it called? It’s on the tip of my tongue. Ah yes! As for the standalone game, you can grab yourself a copy separately for $60.
Now for something a bit different: an MTV representative has said that even though the title contains the words ‘rock’ and ‘band’, the game will be a “custom, standalone, dedicated game experience.” Still, seems strange considering earlier reassurances that the game would not feature the Rock Band brand name.
How a Beatles game sound to you, dear commenters? When you see it on a store shelf leaping up and down saying “Pick me! Please, please me! Don’t let me down! Pick me!”, will you be tempted? It doesn’t seem bad to me, I’m sure reviewers will dig it. Though, to be honest, I’m down for pretty much any rhythm game.
In other news, I like to drive my car eight days a week, with the aim of fixing a hole for no one (That’s enough – Ed.)

YES! I guarantee I am the biggest beatles fan on this website, so you can imagine my joy when I see it announced.
Also, the reason it’s released 9/9/09 is because it was a big number in John lennon’s life. He was born on october 9th, revolution 9, his son was born on the 9th. All sorts of crazy jib jab related to the number 9
Oh man, sometimes you wish they wouldn’t be so bad towards PC gamers
Beatles fan + PC gamer = Sad ME.
This news totally DID NOT make my day. I’m down.
24 song references, all with correct links to Wikipedia, with no errors in linking.
You, Eoco, are a professional blogger, whose power exceeds those on Kotaku and Gizmodo, neither of which know how to link right at all.
Professional Blogger or Insane Beatles Fan? Ye Be the Judge.
Anywho, I’ll be there day one. The Beatles have always been a big part of my life thanks to my dad, and I can’t wait to ‘play’ their songs.
This is going to be awesome.
You’ll all hate me for this but….The Beatles are so over-rated. I would much rather drop my 60 bucks for a Zeppelin dedicated game. Those guys were SO MUCH more talented. The highest level of music complexity of a Beatles song is on the level of a high school band. I mean come on, how hard will it be to keep up with the odd timing and progressive sound of songs like “Sgt. Pepper” and “She loves you.”
Help! Too many Beatles puns! You Can’t Do That!
Impressive Eoco, very impressive.
I am hoping that this game gets as good of ratings as the other versions of the Rock Band game.
I found sarcasticgamer.com very informative. The article is professionally written and I feel like the author knows the subject very well. sarcasticgamer.com keep it that way.
